As RC already said, they seem to be very, very big.

Sorry, for now I don't like the rear at all and I don't think the back will get much better.

    Re: New Panamera pic

    come on guys,
This kind of actions and reactions are well known on Rennteam for each and every model that porsche brings out. Doesn't matter if new or evolution. It starts with the mule bashing, then in goes on with the first presentation pics, and after a very short while, everybody just loves it, and has one on order. This is a very strange but for porsche enthusiasts very typical phenomenon.

    Re: New Panamera pic

    I agree!
Whilst one can understand the revulsion that the mule's are generating, one should try and keep a stiff upper lip!
If it gets too tough, just "lie back and think of England".
I can also understand the nervousness unleashed by these beasts, as the Cayenne is still fresh on people's minds.
Having said all this, I'm sure that the final version of this car will be far superior to the mules we are now seeing.
Let's all keep the faith...(or at the very least hope and pray that there is still someone at Porsche with a discerning eye)

Why so much unrest? Looks, like a sporty Cayenne, like a kind BMW X6, designed by Porsche

    Re: New Panamera pic

And you guys have a go at the Beamer 5 series..Its an aweful try by P at a luxury motor , from what we can see at the moment anyway...

    Re: New Panamera pic

The answer is so simple....if you don't like the way it looks, or will look when the "camo" is removed, don't buy it!

The Cayenne ( bug eyed and " slumpy shouldered " rear three quarters ) and Cayman ( helmet head humped roof ) both looked unattractive to me in mule/spy shot state and just as odd on the road in production. Nothing about the Panamera's bulbous Lexus -like rear three qtr will change once released , IMO.

Probably true. The Cayenne and now the Panamera are new lines that will mostly sell to new customers who never cared for a true sports car. The sedan may be bought buy some 911 owners who need a luxury sedan, but not me. The Cayenne is a very good SUV, but is pricey as SUVs go and for its use, however they seem to be selling well, at least until now.

Let's hope that they will continue to build decent sports cars - 911s, Boxsters and Boxster-coupes, aka Caymans.

    Re: New Panamera pic

Not too bad, think it will look pretty good at the end.

O.k. No fixed rear wing, but also no automatic wing?? Do they want to fool us with all the prototypes with wings??

I would say that's the general idea, yes .

    Re: New Panamera pic

now it looks like a jacked up cayman. The parts bin special.

    Re: New Panamera pic

    Thanks for the shots .

The rear looks like Boxster to me .

    Re: New Panamera pic

    Yes,

Boxster/Cayman tail, 997 nose and doors, CGT headlights....

Hopefully, we'll get some pics soon with less camo., although from RC's comments on a "japanized" (riced up) appearance, I am expecting some 996 and Cayenne DNA too (Pinky Lai's influence). Does anyone know who heads PAG's design department now? Is Lai still there?

For the record, I believe Lai is from Hong Kong, but received his formal automotive design education in Europe (Rome) and London.

"Pinky" Lai? I presume it's a "she" then? Is that her real name?
