GT3 to be delivered sooner than expected!
Hello to all. I have been watching this board ever since it crossed my mind one day last year that if there is an M3 forum and a Scooby forum and and F-car forum, etc, there must also be a shelter for people like me who had no way of turning back from the moment they first saw the introductory press photos of a white 997 GT3 almost three years ago (back then still only with red brakes, remember?).
I can imagine that we all went through the same sort of process, so to make a year-long story short, I got information from our dealer in Prague just yesterday that we have a production term for the last week in August, which is a few weeks ahead of the original plans. He explains that we have specced the car sparingly with no unnecessary add-ons. I take it that the brakes are not is shortage anymore.
In comparison to some stories I read here, especially from America, I think that is good going. We placed a deposit in June, btw. From deposit to delivery in roughly 3,5 months. Just like ordering a Merc or BMW here, but all for the better so that I get two good months of driving before first snow.
The factory allocation for the GT3 MY08 for the Czech Republic is one unit, so that was also pretty exciting.
For your information, Porsche Prague sold about 120 cars last year. Half of them Cayennes, naturally, but I don't count those as Porsches. Sorry to all owners, but I hope that others out there know what I mean. The Porsche dealership here is right next to Audi, and when the Cayennes are mixing it with Touaregs and Q7s, all in one happy bunch, it needs no further explanation.
The car is as follows:
White
PCCB
Bi-Xenons
Sound Package Plus
Front Screen with top tint
Floor mats
