    Panamera - New shots

Do they have to make the wing go up in every car Porsche makes .

    Re: Panamera - New shots

Thanks for posting - these are the best shots so far! Still looks a bit fat, I am sure it will look better without any camo - however, as RC's post stated, its not a 5 series or E class competitor but more of a 7 series S class enemy. Thus, the size is going to be a put off for some Porsche drivers me thinks

    Re: Panamera - New shots

    Hey Ron,

Nice find! Still doesn't look great, but as Porky said, we'll wait until the camo is down.

The wing is UP as the car is getting arouse...

    Re: Panamera - New shots

Back starts to look like the Boxster...

    Re: Panamera - New shots

Thanks Ron, first pics of the real spoiler

It looks BIG, and those exhaust pipes look like a diesel

    Re: Panamera - New shots

    interesting...

    Re: Panamera - New shots

    Obviously the car looks huge.

RC mentzioned that already, though I would be disappointed to see another 2 ton car from Porsche.

    Re: Panamera - New shots

hmmm, have they been hiding this tiny little wing for all these months under so much camo?!?
Judging by the amount of camo, I would have guessed they had a whole new sophisticated system!

    Thanks for posting.

I now quite like the rear.

The rear wing must be a real piece of technology as they tried to hide it so much.

I suspect it was up on purpose because it doesn't seem the car was going that fast.

Obviously this wing doesn't have any cooling purpose !!!!

Rumors say, that the wing automatically will "expand" depending on the speed.
If you watch the pics carefully you can spot a slot in the middle of the wing panel - obviously there are actually two panels (not only one), which could be able to "expand" sideways depending on the speed. Also the case right below the wing itself seems to be rather big (probably harbouring the electro-mechanical components to perform such a "trick")

I guess this rumor makes some sense if you consider the huge camo wing we have seen on older pics - the camo wing just was that big to cover the expanded real wing.

    Re: Panamera - New shots

The roof section above the rear doors looks like it is heavily disguised to hide the true shape of the roofline. This photoshop pic is starting to look more like it could be accurate.

The positive side to this is perhaps it's a sign that Porsche plans to power it up for stable high-speed runs over 320kph/200mph.

It seem like you're right. The car has an expandable pop-up wing. Very innovative if you ask me, and will provide lots of traction at high speed. Hopefully it can also serve as an air brake.
Porsche are dead serious about performance and the Panamera will most likely not be some disappointing over night sedan just to increase sales.

    Re: Panamera - New shots

The expandable wing reminds me of the "expanding wings" on a flying draco....maybe Porsche missed a chance for another reptilian car name, the Draco

    Re: Panamera - New shots

I just can't work out the rear door. If you look at the car from a side profile (photo #3), one can see that the rear door is smaller than the rear window. In other words, the opening "line" of the rear door goes up into the rear window. It's very strange!
Also - I cant make out if the roof line (behind the rear doors) is still under camo or not.
I'm really enjoying watching the development of this car; independently of it's beauty.
I don't think she's "drop dead gorgeous", but I do think that this look will grow on one ..in the fullness of time.

    Re: Panamera - New shots

Shouldn't there be a "spoiler warning" on this thread?

Anyway, how much of an impact can an air brake have on stopping a car from 300km/h? 10m?

    Re: Panamera - New shots

If you look carefully, you can see that the roof line is not cameoed anymore. That is the way it is. The rear window is slightly extended from the door line, but this is the design.

However, the door panels are still covered. It looks like the doors get a slicker waist line, which is quite interesting. All spyshots show a strange slant before the front door. It seems that the car gets a carrera GT style front slant between wheel and door.

    yah

    Re: Panamera - New shots

I am praying this car will not have the cheap plastic insert side vents. (i.e. 997TT, Boxster, old Mustangs)

    Re: Panamera - New shots

also - the rear bumper and hips are still camoed.

    Re: Panamera - New shots

I read somewhere yesterday, that Porsche has hinted that this is not the final shape of the car.

    Re: Panamera - New shots

Looks long enough to be a limosine...
