    Is it possible to fit 18" on PCCB ?

    I have a spare set of 18" wheels, which I could eventually use to fit winter tyres on my next 997 S with PCCB.

    But I'm wondering if they will fit because of the big rotors ??

    Yes. I was concerned this past winter before ordering my winter wheels, having heard the 18" set-up was optimal for winter driving. After assurances from my dealer I had them installed. They installed them so were responsible if the rotors were damaged. No problems whatsoever.

    Do a little eyeballing with this pic. Confirms that they'll just fit. The front wheel is shown in photo.

    I was told that it wasn't possible to fit the 18" with the PCCBs but then again that was for the Turbo version. I think that the C2S PCCB rotors might be a bit smaller. I'd definitely double check with service about that. You can't just eyeball it like MMD suggested.

    My "eyeballing" indicated there's a bit more than a half inch more clearance which would _only_ prove sato's testimony is highly credible. IOW, eyeballing doesn't prove there's enough clearance on it's own.

    The turbo rotors _are_ bigger than non-turbo so I'm "sure" (yeah right, like I've never been wrong) the 18s won't fit.

    My brother runs 18" 996 turbo twist wheels/winter tires in his 997S launch edition with PCCB. No problem with clearance at all.

    I looked it up...looks like the ceramic rotors on non-turbos are 355mm whereas its 380mm on Turbos. Not sure about GT3/RS. This doesn't really make sense since I think you pay the same price for ceramics whether its the Turbo or non-Turbos. Why would they change the rotor sizes?!?

    PCCB on turbo are about $800 more than non turbo 997, if my memory serves me

    Maybe because of the "point and shoot" characteristics of TT; it needs all the braking power it can get? Perhaps the extra rubber of tires allows bigger rotors because extra braking power won't be wasted? I dunno.

    OK, I'll keep the set of 18" wheels then ! Just wondering though how they will look on a 997 ...
