You chose the white one! A brave move! The white one at the Canary Wharf Expo did look fantastic but I'd be sooo worried about residuals!
Have to spec mine in the next week or so for Oct Delivery but TBH I'm unsure if I will keep it... Mixed reviews have not helped especially when I think how much its costing and the fact I could jump into a used 997s for the same money!
If I do keep it, I'd be thinking black or the gray with dark wheels.
I'm not worried about white from a residual point of view as it is definately the new "in" colour to have on performance cars in the UK as everyone begins to tire of silver, grey and black. My dealer's demo car is going to be white and I know two other people who've ordered the car in white as well. I just traded my white Gallardo Coupe for a white Gallardo Spyder and the Coupe sold within 5 days of hitting the showroom floor which I'm told is faster than any other colour they've had in recently.
White also shows the carbon roof to best effect on the new M3 so if you like it go for it. It's no coincidence that BMW marketing chose white for the brochure photo shots
I don't intend keeping mine for more than 6 months and my dealer says they are more than happy to take it back off my hands in the white with black interior combo I've chosen. Another advantage is that white is far easier to look after than black.
And I wouldn't be too concerned about the press articles affecting demand either. From what I gather the waiting lists are growing longer so residuals should be pretty steady for the first 12 months. The review in Evo was pretty good and once the car is properly tested on UK roads I'm sure it will start to get more glowing reports.
