people are paying serious $$$$ to see luca unveil it at maranello on the 4th of sept . they will be pissed off if it's shown earlier for free . really got those pics from michael ( schumacher )

Looks like a solid white stripe to me but it's hard to say for sure. Look at the 2 Maranello factory pics. & the one posted prior w/ a white stripe:

For the same reason they protect the nose while on a road test they may be protecting the stripe.(in addition to the track they take the cars out on the streets) They may have had a few get some rock chips and resulting customer complaints because it's not like you can just touch them up easily.

Gregg, did your Challenge Stradale have a stripe?
From memory of the pics you once posted I would say no. I really don't know if I would order the Scuderia with the stripe, the grey one is not as characteristic as the white/tricolor one of the CS.

No, I didn't get the stripe on my Stradale but to be honest I wish I had after I took delivery. I wasn't in love with the colors but thought it looked very cool after I got to see a few other CS's with it.
On the Scud. it looks even better than the CS's. (imo) You're probably right about the grey but I'd have to see it in person. I do like the dual stripe and the way it narrows towards the front.. If they made black available or white it would be hard to resist...

You may be right, it all depends on the colour. The shape of the stripe is great. Let's wait and see, if it will be available in different colours.
BTW, do you know what colour that is on the presentation pics? Doesn't look like rosso corsa to me.
