Great ideia , for European standards 0-300Kph is more interesting than 1/4

Sportec claims 0-300kph in 18.9 sec. for their SPR1....mentioned in the latest Excellence magazine.

Re: video: 9.911 sec 1/4 run

i think you can bring better than 21s .. your car must be faster than veyron(less weight and more whp) ..
what will you use to calculate 0-300 ?

Re: video: 9.911 sec 1/4 run

Wow man, the front wheels came loose on one of the launches! :O

Now you are talking, the real men's standard. Gemballa's GTR 750 (21.7s in 2002) is a better comparison, full 4WD weight and no aerodynamic aids.

Re: video: 9.911 sec 1/4 run

    Simply amazing!

I thought the Gemballa was RWD .

Re: video: 9.911 sec 1/4 run

You make a good observation and you could be right . There is conflicting information about this car.

According to Sport Auto it was a GT2 based 2WD car, however Uwe Gemballa contradicted this information and I know of at least one with 4WD that is based on a 996TT and not a GT2. The tested car by Sport Auto weighed 1550 Kgs which is inline with a TT rather than a GT2 based 2WD car, I will try to find the article.

It was a 3.8 Ltr engine with twin Garrett T035 turbochargers and using GT3R heads and camshafts, stock 996TT gear ratios with 19 inch rims. The surprising thing is that it reached those numbers despite the (seriously) ugly monumental rear wing.

A true monster from 2002, still unbeaten except for a purpose built max speed 9FF car. There are still a few out there running the streets (and more than one of them for sale)

Edit: I found the article. Here is the performance data. Notice how the 0-100 km/h was only 4.1 seconds as a result of traction loss, and still managed those numbers. On a drag race circuit, it would have gained another 1 second at a minimum.

GT2ETR, I have no doubt that there are possibly two versions (AWD & RWD) of the car available. Regarding the car used in the test, the text in the excerpt leads me to believe that the car tested is RWD (it talks about the Murcielago accomplishing the same task in 3.6 seconds, thanks to AWD).

Edit: Those are some monstrous numbers and, comparing the 100 to 300 km/h time, the Gemballa is only marginally slower than the Veyron.

According to Excellence Magazine (September issue), the Sportec SPR1 (802HP) went 0-100km/h in 3.0sec., 0-200km/h in 8.6sec. and 0-300km/h in 18.9 sec., last fall at Nardo.

Yes, I remember reading that, as well as Sportec's attempt to break the top speed record at Nardo this summer. Any word on when (or if) they make the attempt there-or if they tried and failed.

Re: video: 9.911 sec 1/4 run

The article in Excellence said that last fall it ran 380km/h and they will try again later this summer.

964C2, I know you must have read it, but truth is they never achieved that time, this is what Ulrich Hodel claimed, unproven so far.

Re: video: 9.911 sec 1/4 run

My car is RWD... built bottom and gt3 heads and cams.... still runs on Bosch motronic... has AC, powersteering, etc... I have no special body work other then Techart body and gemballa rear wing... not really all that good for aero dynamics.... Im not a tuner either... Im running 1.5 bars with a set of GT35rs....
stock tranny and no LSD... the car is a daily driver...

Re: video: 9.911 sec 1/4 run

is it the stock motronic ?
usually if you try to change things in the stock one the anti-theft device becomes activated ?

If you mean is it the same ECU? yes. However, I am running on GT3 code since my headwork wiht cams are both off of a GT3 race car.
