Seems as if they still use the CCM from the Challenge Stradale or does anybody know if Ferrari upgraded them for the Scuderia as well?

Aren't the CCMs in the Challenge cars bigger than the "standard" CCMs?

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

i believe so. the 430 scud disks *look* bigger than cs ones but i can'd find info to support this !

But in the text they say 380mm.

Well, I guess we have to wait.

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

I expect the weight would be 1375kg in SA test. (i think next year )

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

    no ccm 398mm as 599?

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

here is my 2 cents, 430 scuderia will blow the gt2 away on tracks while the gt2 will have a slight advantige in aceleration,
    why?

well simply the gt2 will be about 100-150 kg hevier and will have only a 20 hp advantige, while the torque advantige is hudge, the point is that between the 997 gt3 rsr race car and the 430 gt race car there is the similar weight diff and hp diff and the 430 blew the rsr away on pure race speed on allmost all racetracks they raced.

my prediction thet the laptimes on slow and medium circuts will be in a hudge advantige toward 430 while on high speed ones(Nurbergring,Monza ) they will be close, while on extreamly fast ones (Le Mans, AutoBahn) the gt2 will have an advantige

The standard CCM for the F430 appear to be of similar size to the Scud:
    380mm x 34mm with 6 pot in front and 350 x 34mm with 4 pot at rear.

Standard European specs F430 is 1350kg (2975lb) dry weight and 1450kg (3196lb) kerb weight.

IMO they're trying pretty hard with this one. The CS more closely resembles the 360 Challenge car. In this case the 430S is the 430 Challenge car, plus some. The Challenge car should probably be the bench mark, but the regular 430 already has the looks of the current Challenge. A tad phony,(except for anything to do with performance) but they have to justify the big bucks.

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

interesting paragraph from pistonheads story- it seems possible the scud will be 3rd 430 variant and not produced in limited numbers like cs
. Anyone asked or had this confirmed? It will make huge diff to residuals

    http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=16503

Officially called the F430 Scuderia, it becomes the third model in the F430 range, and is envisaged by the factory as a regular stand-alone variant in its own right - unlike the F360 Challenge Stradale that appeared in limited numbers towards the end of the 360 Modena lifecycle.

the CS was not so limited either, I don't remember how many that were made, but it was alot, in his short production run.

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

1200 cs were made from '03 - '05 ; 400 per year worldwide sounds pretty limited to me

They planned to build around 800 CS, but due to high demand they produced more. I heard the same numbers (around 1000) are planned for the Scuderia.

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

Maybe you like to know, that there is this "rumor" that schumi tested the scud and the 599 and at the nurbring , both cars with the news scud tires, pirelli corsa evolution, the scud did -4sec that the 599, at the Dottinger Hohe was 3kmhslower...but is just a rumor

    Ferrari is finally getting smart
Still a bit too low but they will "fix" that for the 430 successor.

Lightweight Scuderia boasts 503bhp and uprated gearbox
When Ferrari's latest Formula One-inspired supercar is unveiled at September's Frankfurt Motor Show, you might recognise the man who pulls off the covers. His name is Michael Schumacher, and he's had a big input into making his new F430 one of the prancing horse's biggest-ever thrillers.

Unique wheels join the grey stripes running up the bonnet and over the roof, while new aerodynamic features at the rear add to the aggressive look while reducing lift

The ex-F1 world champ is the most qualified person to reveal what will probably become his next company car. Feast your eyes on the F430 Scuderia, which is soon set to be Ferrari's most hardcore V8 model.

Due to go on sale alongside the existing F430 Coupé and Spider, the newcomer follows in the tracks of the stripped-out 360 Challenge Stradale. However, while that was a last-of-the-line track-day special, the Scuderia debuts several new technologies.
The mid-mounted V8 has been tuned to deliver an extra 20bhp, taking the total to a huge 503bhp. Acceleration is aided even further by a 100kg drop in kerbweight.

But there's more to the Scuderia's abilities than straight-line speed. Engineers have adapted features from Ferrari flagships as well as the firm's grand prix cars. The F1 Superfast automated manual gearbox has been improved to provide breathtakingly fast shifts; changes in the Scuderia take only 60 milliseconds - on a par with those in Ferrari's 1999 F1 racer.

Other technological treats include reworked versions of the brand's electronic driver aids. The traction control now combines the E-Diff electronic differential and stability system in a single set-up. This gives the driver a greater degree of adjustability, with the option of disabling the traction control altogether, while leaving the oversteer correction on. Of course, the most extreme setting still allows all the gadgets to be disengaged.

To complement its enhanced driver appeal, the Scuderia gets plenty of styling extras, too. Unique wheels join the grey stripes running up the bonnet and over the roof, while new aerodynamic features at the rear add to the aggressive look while reducing lift. Inside, the stripped-out cabin boasts thin racing seats. Luxuries are sparse, although the designers have added a series of change-up lights in the top of the steering wheel.

The new model goes on sale here in right-hand-drive form at the end of the year. While prices have yet to be announced, there will be a substantial premium over the standard Pounds122,775 F430 Coupé. (AutoExpress)

    Any prices for Europe?

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

Just for you to have an idea, in Lebanon, the standard F430 coupe is @ 168.000$ as starting price. A 599 starts @ 240.000$
