    Switch to Turbo?

    I was all set up to switch from a 997 C2S to a turbo, as I thought the turbo would be a funner/faster track car. The more I read on these forums, the more doubt I have. Currently, half of my miles are from the track- about 10 to 15 track days a year. From what I gather reading, the turbo is a great everyday car, but is only a so-so track car.

    For you guys that track the turbo, are you disappointed with the turbo? Would the C2S be the better car for the track? I still love the C2S at the track and I still have lots to learn-done Skippy, PDE, and obviously numerous track days.

    I'm 4th on the waiting list at my dealer for a GT3. He says extremely unlikely that I will get a GT3, thus the jump to the turbo.

    I have a turbo. I also had a chance to drive a GT3 recently and I have to say that I'm VERY tempted in giving my Turbo up for a GT3. I was amazed how well the GT3 drives. It's really more of a driver's car than the Turbo is. And oh that sound the GT3 makes! So much fun driving the GT3!

    I went to the Porsche Driving School twice, one for the 2 day high performance driving school and once for the Masters. Most of the time we used the Carrera 2 and I was VERY impressed on how well they did. We had the chance to drive C2S too and I was even more impressed. I can only imagine what it must be with a GT3. These 3 are probably more track ready than a Turbo.

    If you do 10-15 track days a year, no question IMO, your tool of choice should be a GT3 or GT3 RS.

    or if you can't get one in reasonable timing:
    a C2s+X51+PCCB+-20mm/LSD (tough not sure this one is available in USA)

    Nope - the -20mm sports suspension with rear LSD isn't sold in the USA or Canada, just the X51 and PCCBs are available there.

    I had a deposit on a GT3 and a TT, both black, drove them both. Loved them both, GT3 is an awsome car but the clutch and the rough ride on daily basis plus not much tracking made me trade the C2s with 2500 miles for a TT. I am happy as it's a faster car and a car that I would drive to a meeting with a business suit on while GT3's aggressive look and ride is more suitable for the track
