    2005 997 CarreraS engine problems

    I have a carreraS, had to change he engine at 5,000 miles because of a broken aux crankshaft. Had an other engine problem yestarday. The car is at the dealership but do not know yest the problem. The car has only 12,000 miles. I think this time I will ask for a new car. Any thoughts????

    Nothing is stopping you from asking, but the chances of you getting a new car because of your second engine problem are right up there with me playing point guard for the Sacramento Kings next season.

    The only way would be through your state's lemon law. It should be disclosed in your owner's manual what are the requirement for Texas.

    On a '05, I don't think PCNA will do that for you.

    I doubt it, but you will never know until you try. Marshall all your documentation of the seriousness of the problems. I suspect that in the end you could get an engine swap, especially since you only have 12,000 miles on it. Porsche's are made (in most instances) well enough that an engine swap shouldn't be an issue. Make sure you get a free loaner thrown into the deal.

    Ouch. I hope you get satisfaction whatever the outcome. Broken aux crankshaft? That sounds pretty weird...
