    997 C4S with Power Kit vs R8

    which one would you choose assuming price not a factor?

    C4S with Power Kit: 381 hp @ 7200 rpm & 306 torque @ 5500 rpm.

    R8: 420 hp @ 7800 rpm & 317 torque @ 4500 rpm.

    Tony i think price wont be factor because i guess they will have very similar price.

    IMO C4S wont be slower than R8 on straight line performance.
    On track it is mystery but R8 seems it has advantage. I would choose C4S power kit.

    AFAIK Sport Auto tested C2S power kit last year(maybe a year before) it did 0-100:4.9 and 0-200:15.0
    But dunno about Hring or Nring time

    i'll go for the r8 , for the change, the exclusivity and the resale value to name a few. performance of both cars should be very close to each others.

    Dimi are u serious about resale value ?? Most of Audis including RS-S series, the price drop like a hell

    R8 for me. New M3 is nice cheap alternative...

    BTW, even Tom Kristensen choose R8 for himself.

    I think price-wise and performance-wise, both will be very similar. Both are AWD, naturally aspirated, and equally attractive. Currently, I choose the R8. However, if the Audi dealer screws me, which unfortunately is happening in the U.S., then I will go for the C4S with power kit.

    Tony, there is a great comparaison test in a recent EVO issue (including also the Prodrive AM V8 Vantage and the BMW M6).

    I know Ziggy but I don't subscribe to EVO and it is not available in the U.S. The article is apparently not available for view in their website either. Does anyone have a copy and willing to scan it?

    Loeb, the 3x rally world champion had a 996TT...and he drives Citroens....

    I would get the R8 or the 997TT or the GT3. No sense in buying a C4S with powerkit.
