Sorry but I know my dealer personally, but that proves nothing. A parallel importer is likely to have LESS information than an official dealer.

I would wait for the official Porsche order guide PERSONALLY before believing anything...

    Facelift 997

What is that little "bump" above the rear window? Is that for satellite radio?

    Re: Facelift 997

Probably the new phone kit - Bluetooth at last!!!

A spoiler in this position would be good for what?

...for Lars to be right after all

HAHAHA.... yes.. you all will see that spoiler sooner or later

    Re: Funny thread

    Here's my guess -- we'll see the return of the red stripe; like 964, 993, 996 4S!

    Re: Funny thread

I've seen worse ideas from Porsche than the red stripe. It does not look that bad. Not as good as on the 996C4S though, who's back is still one of the finest IMO.

It's the US bumper and the pipes that look kind of strange to my eyes.

    Don't forget 911 also (1974-1989)...

    Facelift

It looks like there will be a strip on the 4's.

Here is a PS of the front.

I hate to say, but it seems as if I get slowly used to the new front...

Now that doesn't look too bad, does it?

    Re: Funny thread

Dont like the red strip, look so dated.

    Re: Funny thread

It looks like the nose is a little too long. Maybe the angle of the photo.

It can't be a spoiler like the Boxster's one, because when the grill one comes up it will be useless.

    Hello carreraman,

thanks for the nice photoshop... well done!

With every pic more I become more excited to the Mk II.

    Greetings

You're right with what you write. While waiting until the official PORSCHE order guide is out we all spend our time to speculate how the facelifted 997 might be / could be like. It's so exciting, isn't it?

    Greetings

    Re: Funny thread

I've just left my deposit for C2S 08MY. Dealer typically tight-lipped on updates but did acknowledge some "significant" changes are likely. Still awaiting their allocation but hope to confirm in 6 weeks.....

    Re: Funny thread

thanks for info bridggar. all im waiting for is the pdk transmission before i order mine.

    Re: Funny thread

My order is dependant on it.

Something does not make sense... The car has Carrera exhausts and not S exhaust, but had S rims.. and the Fugly/ dated red stripe !!!
I would not buy the 4S, if it would have the stripe....
anyway, I' ll be changing for the C2S, as soon as it available, unless the power increase is really too little

    Re: Funny thread

You guys waiting for the facelift enjoy the loooooooong wait. Some say it's half the fun

Are there anyone enjoy the waiting?

Just buy the BEST you like, I don't care which is the latest model.

    Re: Funny thread

i definitely dont like that red reflector thing between the back lights.

Anyway heres a little something i put together.

    Re: Funny thread

On the recent lapis or cobalt blue 997 facelift, it appears the rear end will sport diffuser-type under carriage cover. I am under this impression given the placement of the exhaust pipes are on the bumper; they seem slightly, and only slightly, higher than the current 997 along with the black lower moulding.

    Re: Funny thread

heres a bigger one of the side view.

    Re: Funny thread

Yup,I definately like the mk1 front better... Why are they trying to make the 911 look like a boxster?!?
    -Joost-

    Mr. Potato Head does stylin'

997 Mk II = Mr. Potato Head styling.

"Hey those tail lights look good on Audi's and SEAT's, so why don't we put them on the 997 if people like them so much."

"Hey everyone LOVED the front air vents on the 996 C4S and TT, so why don't we put them on the 997 restyle?"

"Hey everyone LOVES that power bulge on the hood of the M3 & M5, so why don't we put one on the hood of the 997 restyle? Oops! Forgot...the engine's in the back...Could we move it around the front - it would make the car much more appealing to BMW owners..."

And so does marketing and styling comingle in the relentless pursuit of mediocrity.

    Re: Funny thread

Phoenix 911 - the point is not so much that I know the parallel importer personally, but rather he is not obliged to shift inventory unlike official Porsche centres. Hence, there is LESS reason for him to be kept in the dark than OPCs. He has some reliable sources in Stuttgart who have informed him that the next cars he orders from them (for October onwards) will have PDK. Proof will be in the pudding.

But since he has no official relationship with PAG he is even less likely to be told the truth.

    Doesn't wash - sorry.
