Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

Not sure if this is old news but just got wind from a parallel importer in Singapore that the Q4'07 deliveries of the 997 range (including the Turbo) will DEFINITELY include a new 7-ratio DSG paddleshifter (improving performance over the manual box by a couple of tenths of seconds). However, the facelift may not come till MY'09 - that remains to be seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Judging by the piccies posted above, I wouldn't be surprised if the '07 deliveries will also be facelifted. All dealers I've spoken to are oblivious to these revisions - most definitely being kept in the dark by PAG management. J

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

    thanks jyh

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

wait arent we in Q4? doesnt Q1 of 08 start in september?

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

islandMD615 - am not talking about Model Year but Calendar Year Q4'07. But yes, I believe we're talking about the same timeline i.e. MY Q1'08 = CY Q4'07.

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

My dealer in Kuwait has advised me fr the first time since we ordered MY08 back in Jan 07: NO 997 C2S FACELIFT for MY08!!

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

I think that was pretty obvious, since MY09 starts in september..

    Funny thread

I'm going to predict that in 6 months this thread will be making a bunch of people laugh their heads off at the wild lies that most of the dealers have told them and another group getting very angry at how their dealer made them look very foolish.

    Let's see...

Face lift his Fall vs face lift a year from now.

LED's as standard vs. LED's as an option.

370hp vs 380 hp vs 400 hp for the S.

DSG this Fall vs DSG next Fall

    6-speed vs 7-speed.

    And I'm sure there's more...

But hey, let's keep the pics coming for Berfes!

    Re: Funny thread

Tis indeed a very funny thread... Just how many repeats of the same old rumours... 1000BHP upgrade next month! - how about f**k all new for the next 2 years.. lol!

    Hello!

And again somebody woh makes me think that he didn't read my sentences correct/right. So I'll repeat it again:"The car magazine AUTO Zeitung wrote, that they exspect a powerincrease of 40 hp for the non-S (365 hp) and of 45 hp for the S (400 hp). But I don't think that their text was/is reliable."

Please guys don't understand me wrong.

    Greetings

    HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

    Hi again!

Before we are going to write one text after another I keep going on with sharing my pics with you! Am I still the only pic-poster? Supports are very welcome!

Enjoy the next to very nice pics of the 997 Mk II. Very nice color and a nice pic-quality. But decide it yourself.

    Greetings

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

And here the last one for today!

Btw it is the first facelifted non-S.

Could it be, that the Mk II gets reverberators like the 993 or the Carrera 4S 996.... the red line between the rear lights? It looks like taped for camo.

    Greetings

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

Good pics thanks!! even if the rear isn't so aggressive..

And we can't see the puddels inside... . . .

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

forget a autoshow for the intro of the facelift. its out right now! thanks phoenix!

    Good question!

This strap looks really strange. Anybody PS it to red please?

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

exhaust looks bad on this photo. mayb its the angle of the picture but the pipes are too centered......

Probably due to the angle of the photo and the car being a widebody--the tips appear to be in the same position as the current car if I am not mistaken.

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

the front will look more aggressive, but not sure about the back and really don't like those big side mirrors.
As for the red stripe in the back, I hope there will not be one.
It was nice until the 964..but not after

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

i think that porsche while trying to stay with its original lines and understated look they are now loosing the edge to the competition.

remember when the 996 came out ? this is when porsche started to blend in, instead of stand out.

something has to happen and by that i do not mean ricer wings as on the gt2 and gt3. diffusors, wilder exhaust. wilder front and rear, more aggressive roofline. carbon bits....whatever...there are many options.

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

Yes!!!! i echo your sentiment! Thank you very much Phoenix for all of the pics!
really appreciate it and wish i could contribute. thank you!

    ps
does anyone know if the black strip at the bottom of the rear lights will stay
or is that tape? it doesn't quite look right to me.

The truth is that the sales guys at the dealer almost allways know less about future cars than us internet petrol heads.

Dealers only have valid info a few months prior to launch. Anything that comes out of a dealers month 3-12 months prior to lunch have proven to be nothing but pure speculation, hearsay and bullshit.

Always take a dealers word with a big bucket of salt.

The point is we still quote them here as in "My dealer tells me..." as if we were being given privileged information; which of course it's not, but which we also then happily broadcast to this community of ours for further dissemination, discussion, and debate.

If we know it's BS why do we bother???

    Re: Funny thread

    Hello everybody!

I'm glad you appreciate my posted pics. Thank you so far for your replys.

I must confess, I liked the red stripe... for me it was all the time (as long as I'm a PORSCHE fan) a major part of the design of the 911. But in case of the 997 Mk I and MkII the ride stripe (if there will be one) won't really fit to the style of the back/rear lights.

    @ berfes:
Sorry that I didn't got any pics of the Mk II. If I find some, I'll post them here as soon as I can.

    Greetings

    Re: Funny thread

    encore, encore!

...bring back the 911 red stripe!

    Re: Funny thread

I think, this looks more than the spoiler on the Boxster, instead of a red stripe!?

OMG! I hope soooooooooooo much that you are wrong. A Boxster-Spoiler on the Mk II?

    Lars997, I was kidding a bit.

Who is able to delete the little camos on the last two pics? I have the pics in bigger size (1024x768) if somebody wants it.

    Greetings

A spoiler in this position would be good for what?

    I would appreciate that. Anybody?

    Re: Funny thread

BTW, for anyone who is uncertain about my earlier comment re: the parallel importer's news of DSG being introed in MY'08 models, this is not just hearsay. I know this particular parallel importer personally and he is not obliged to shift any Porsche inventory (he orders on-demand only) - hence, no incentive to either fabricate or withhold information about upcoming facelifts/revisions. However, I do agree that official distributors are generally kept in the dark - mainly because the big boys at PAG don't want to undermine their distribution centres' efforts to shift older 997 versions off their forecourts.
