I've done the CF treatment on my 996TSCab, I'm still waiting on a the CF dome light cover, then I'll have pics of that. For my 993TT, I think I'll stick with leather on the dash and console, except CF for the stick, door handles and handbrake tray. Did you tune your 993TT also?

Yes, Al, I was in free-fall down the slippery slope. I added: Gunther Mandle (Sportec tuner) software, Cargraphic exhaust, FVD hi-flo 100 cell cats (smog legal), GT1/Zero Clearance hybrid turbos, GT auxiliary oil cooler, lightweight flywheel, GT2 clutch, PSS9, front strut bar, short shift kit. The mosaic of different mods performed very well, although if/when I do it all over again, I will probably do a uniform 3.8 conversion from one tuner or another.
I also like the console in your TT, as it offers some neat custom display possibilities.

I think I'm headed down that same slope you slipped on....
Although I am going to do what you suggest-for the power upgrade, I'm shippping her down to Arkansas later this year to let Todd Knighton (Protomotive) go at it with his 3.8L conversion to get to the 700HP range, letting him arrange the components and tuning that fits together. But I will do the other stuff this summer myself (interior, suspension-Euro M030 springs/Bilstein HD shocks from Carnewal, and short shifter)-BTW, did you use the RS short shifter that FVD carries? I think you have to make a dimple in the cover plate below the tunnel to make it fit-is that correct?
And yes, in fact I'm going to the local automotive electronics guy on Thursday to discuss changing the factory phone console to a custom setup for a digital cell phone cradle/Bluetooth radar/laser detector defuser/jammer. I think the phone you see in the pics is an old analog Fujitsu Porsche contracted with-now obsolete, but certainly correctable.

That Protomotive conversion is probably my top option for going the 3.8 route (unless I buy a previously converted Andial car), plus I hear Todd's customer service is second to none.
Man, I'm getting excited to see your car and I haven't even spent a penny on it. It's going to be a long wait...

BTW, I think AmirGT2 (member here) has listed his 993TT (Andial 3.8L conversion) up for sale on rennlist. You might want to check there to see if it hasn't been purchased yet-I think he was asking $90K-ish.

Modified my interior also slighlthy with a bit of (real) alu parts, plus a 996 steering wheel to replace the bulky original item. Also added an 993 RS shift stick. Kept all the original parts, so can easily redo the changes, but I like the result. Also added a Becker Traffic Pro navigation.

No installation takes 2 minutes, you put the lower part in the console and then pull it up. It snaps automatically in the clips. You do not need to remove the console, don't even need a screw driver.
Removing the old one is also ok, you have to twist it a bit and pull to get it released.

993Targa, the RS short-throw kit (not the gear shift) for 4-wheel drive cars requires different installation than in the 2-wheel drive cars, hence the dimpling of the tunnel/drivetrain cover. BTW, very nice interior in yours.
Al, I just got back from a two-week business trip to Europe and couldn't believe that I missed the opportunity on Amir's 3.8. That car is right in my sweet spot.

In the next few weeks, I'll make the initial tweaks to the car-clear turn signal assembly, clear "Turbo S" front air scoop/fog light assembly, Euro Turbo M030 springs/Bilstein HD shocks to lower the car, CF/cashmere leather shifter and handbrake, aluminum pedals for better feel, CF/black leather 3-spoke steering wheel ala my 996TSCab, CF door handles and handbrake tray-before the power upgrade to 3.8L/700horses this winter.
I DO intend to do a nice review of the three turbo's (993/996/997), once I get the 997TT(?S). You must be a mind-reader.

Just make sure you're careful if unleashing those 700 horses on the less than perfect NY roads during bad weather

The "Nav screen" is built in the radio, so no map only arrows. But Becky (=Becker Traffic Pro) also talks and gives directions. I don't have to look at a screen and just focus on the road. She also stays calm when I missed an exit or when I ignore her.
I use this car for fun only, so most often do not use the Navi. But it works great when you have to find a hotel in a city you do not know.

I've only driven the airport bus in NY, but that was horrible
