Believe it or not but I like the 488 GTB more and more. The more often I see it, the more I like it. Since I already drove it a couple of times, I even got used to the V8 Biturbo engine, which has (in my opinion, haven't tried the 720S yet) the most "responsive" V8 turbo engine on the market. Also, it sounds pretty good (compared to the competition).

I believe it. But would you change your R8 for a 488, respectively prefer the Pony to a Bull, aka as Performante? Smiley

No. Performante would still be my favorite, second comes the R8 (I know, unbelievable) and then the 488...

It is very interesting that I have no craving of getting the hyper fast 720S and this comes from someone who always advocated speed over emotions. People change...I guess. Smiley

That people change may only be one reason. The other is that all those top end sportscars are damn fast nowadays, at least as fast (or even faster) as you can drive or as you want to drive in public. Smiley

So things like emotion, sound, feel etc. play an even bigger role than they did before.

Very true. I can enjoy my R8 at much lower speeds, while I enjoyed my former 991.1 Turbo S only at very high speeds and/or the limit. So weird...but a reality.

I've been preaching this for years. It's the enjoyment at lower speeds that makes the car worthwhile. The GT3 provides this driving experience. Smiley

    It's age Smiley

Seriously, I know exactly why you feel this.  For us who have experience with very fast cars both on the road and the track, we kind of know the limit of our driving.  Giving me a car that is 100 or 200 more hp than my current cars for the road will not change my driving one bit.

My friend recently got his 720S, gorgeous car, but I will not want to own one at all.  Attract too much attention anywhere you park.  Not something that I want at my age.  I want to be leave alone and stay low key.

    Re: Ferrari FF / GTC4Lusso

I was a big fan of the FF as you may recall after two of them. TheGTC4 Lusso arrived today. Looks are always subjective  - I prefer the front of the Lusso and the rear of the FF Smiley. To live with and drive the Lusso is a better round package, though I miss the "edginess" of the FF. Start up is quieter in the Lusso but still an event as you would expect with a Ferrari V12. Handling is more assured and precise -  the key difference is the 4 wheel steering. Also the Lusso does not suffer from the tramlining that plagued the FF. The interior and AV/ Nav is a quantum leap forwards, but I think the seats are not as comfortable after the first day in it. Once again the car remains in a category of one with no competition as far as I am concerned. Here are some quick shots. Its Rosso Fuoco again which you will recall is very difficult to capture in photos but just magnificent in person ( and well worth the astronomical price tag). Still haven't shaken the carbon everything affliction eitherSmiley.

    Re: Ferrari FF / GTC4Lusso

I agree, the new rear is ultra ugly compared with the rear of the FF.

Fantastic looking car - congrats. I would wish I could afford one as a dd.

    Enjoy !!!

    Re: Ferrari FF / GTC4Lusso

Congrats, very nice car and I am sure it is a lot of fun for a DD kiss

    Re: Ferrari FF / GTC4Lusso

The color is one of the best reds . So deep !  I like the Lusso and always love when I see one drive around .

My only concern with such a car as a DD would be the length of the car in the city / parking .

    Re: Ferrari FF / GTC4Lusso

Congrats, S. Smiley Beautiful car, the interior is stunning (typical Ferrari) and I actually like the car a lot. I like the rear of the FF a bit more but the GTC4 Lusso is an eye pleaser as well. Would probably be my preferred choice for a family car...if I could afford one (financially and socially).

how much was the paint? how many VW Polos angry

    Re: Ferrari FF / GTC4Lusso

To each their own, everyone has different taste and likes but personally I think the Lusso is finally desirable and stunning looking unlike the FF with the looks so horrible I could not convince myself to overcome, even when the overall package had no competition.

Ordered Lusso for my wife's daily driver  and before anyone makes silly comments please know, she was an accomplished rally driver (1989-1991) competing in a works Celica Alltrack so she knows how to drive a high performance car.

Heart says No (its never quite the same as before), Head says Yes. For once in my case I think the Head will win.

    Re: Ferrari FF / GTC4Lusso

You mean that it will change the look of the colour? If you drive it without PPF it will get stone chips and scratches. With PPF once you remove it in the future it is supposed to be the factory paint as you saw it on day one, no?

But then during the whole time of your ownership you do not to get to appreciate to the full extent the paint you paid a lot to get .....

    Re: Ferrari FF / GTC4Lusso

It is just paint... Ferrari factory paint is not that good anyway...

I also could not overcome the rear of the FF in light colors. The FF only looks good in very dark colors to hide the lines. The Lusso nicely fixed that.

    Re: Ferrari FF / GTC4Lusso

I've never heard anyone say a word about paint on the cars I sold. I'd just go without wrap and sell it to the next guy. He's gonna get a massive discount. If someone wants pristine virgin paint, pay the premium for a new fucking car. You don't get a car fresh off the production line when you pay 10s of thousands under sticker.
