    Maybe the engines will pass the 300hp barrier? A Carrera engine with 320 hp? because with the facelift I think the Carrera will go to 340 - 350hp.....

    Spoke to my OPC today (they phoned - trying to get me to buy a new car) but I said I was going to wait for a LSD to become available (either as an option or via a more focused model). The salesman thought the focused model was likely along with other "developments" which should be announced in the next 3 months. I asked if this was the facelift and DFI but he wouldn't be drawn.

    I agree - salesmen are always last to know and the rumour mill within the network gets more lively the closer you get to Reading. However, Porsche do invariably make model announements in the buid up to Frankfurt, which ties in with 3 months.

    Belatedly, I will caveat that this was pure unadulterated gossip

    If they can come up with a new Cayman with FSI, 320hp then I'm all for it! Actually waiting for a Cayman RS version with LSD...

    Yes count me in too!

    As long as there is no weight increase, I'd take one. Although I guess if they give the Cayman that much more power they will prbably do the same for the Box so again you got the same choice...

    Open air for cheaper or pay more for hard top

    My guess is Porsche will leave the Boxster S with 295bhp and only put the more powerful engine in the Cayman as the more hardcore (and expensive) 987.

    Just come off the phone with my OPC - they have been told in the last week by Porsche that there are no changes for Boxster / Cayman for 2008 model year.

    I think its more likely that the facelift model will be 2009 model year.
