    Nurburgring spyvideo: BMW M3 overtakes an Audi R8

    Maybe the R8 driver realized that he was being caught and gave up

    Nice find... But, according to my info R8 is almost 10s faster on the Ring then new M3.

    BTW, my friend yesterday had a close encounter with new M3 on autobahn Muenchen-Salzburg... He overtake it without any effort what so ever. M3 driver was even pushing... But, my friend was in his 997 turbo(manual)-no chance for new M3 whar so ever according to him...

    No suprise, the cars are in two different leagues.
    The M3 should be compared to a Carrera or Carrera S. I've got no doubt it will be easily faster than a standard Carrera and will be able to stick with a Carrera S. Whether it will be as fun to drive as those cars though is something we will have to wait for to see...

    Unofficial Ring time for R8 is 7.55min(Corsa's, Cermamics) and for new M3 it is 8.12min(Michelin PS2) so, my guess is that when tested by Sport Auto R8 will achive 8.02min-7.58min and M3 8.12min-8.09min...

    R8 is simply brilliant in drive dynamics resluts. Look at this numbers from German AMS:

    Audi R8

    Slalon 18m 69,2km/h
    ISO test 149,4km/h
    VDA test 75kmh/54kmh

    Porsche 997 turbo

    Slalom 18m 68,3km/h
    ISO test 140,9km/h
    VDA test 73kmh/56kmh

    See my point? R8 results are almost at the 997GT3 level...
    Tires on R8 were Pirelli P Zero Hero and on 997 turbo Michelin PS2 N1.

    You know what is funny There is NO single Hero sign on tires, actually Hero is only on the sticker which is on new tire. So, we can bet that Hero will go in to the history after Pirelli stop the production of Rosso's.

    BTW, Hero's will be very soon offered in Porsche N1 specs and little voice told me that 997 turbo is faster with Hero's then with ANY Michelin tire(either Pilot PS2 N1 or CUP N0) on both Hockenheim and Nordschleife...

    So, do not be shocked if you see update of von Saurma results in next few issues of Sport Auto...

    Kreso when does the next issue come out? I cannot wait to see the new times for the Turbo. Did I mention I'm a little biased towards Porsche?
