Hi Kreso,
one answer could be to postpone delivery and wait for the R10
Another option: the ABT package for the R8
P.S.: Let's wait for the first track times. Maybe they will be convincing
Markus,
There are only two options for me:
-get R8 as planned
or
-get RS4 instead
Current state of mind? R..
Just think of your driving experience in the R8! Is the RS4 comparable in terms of excitement? Of course, the RS4 is a very convenient car to use as a daily driver...
Markus,
R8 is in all different drive dynamics class from RS4. It is pretty much an amazing car in terms of high speed stability(both straight line and curves), traction(simply awsome!) and it is very, very friendly to the driver!"
I will keep it since it is pretty different from 997 turbo.
Forthcoming V10 version will be faster in straight line but, heavy as well and R8 is already heavy car...
What is interesting is that R8 doesn feel heavy when you drive it. It feels composed! But, as I already said first thing that I noticed is that R8 is in acceleration terms not any faster then RS4(subjective feeling despite lower seating position).
V10 will be heavier, because it will have more equipment - at least two fire extinguishers
Im disappointed with that Audi still didnt announced TT 2.0T with quattro. I will have to look for alternatives - mybie 335ci or Z4 3.0is or mybie Cayman / 987...

Hvala Kreso
335i coupe is nice car, with nice rims (M6 rims) and with 2 × 2 exhausts (wanna be M ) looks very good, performances are great and it is very fun to drive (RWD).
Are you thinking to change your R8 order ? If I`ve seen right, R8 in this test had manual transmition, so maybe driver didnt get full potencial from a car. Im sure results of R8 with Rtronic would be better

Kreso,
S3 is very impressive car, but as far as I know next generation A3 will be introduced next year and that means current S3 will look old.. Because Im buying car for at least 3 - 4 years , I would much more prefer TT with S3 engine and quattro, because TT is new model and defenetly there wont me next generation in that time I would have it..
But its hard to say which car will look better, S3 when next gen. A3 will be introduced or TT when R8 will be on roads - somewhere Ive seen picture with TT parked alongside R8 and TT looked like... VW Beetle

Hey Markus,
Are they really similar looking to you
Well, not for me. In real life R8 is not any bigger then TT-just lower and wider... I really like the way R8 looks. And R8 is also very, very friendly to drive really fast unlike 997 turbo. In fact R8 and 997tt combo is pretty much ultimate one for me. 599 is way too expensive and I do not like front engine two seaters(although 599 is amazing car on its one).
Also, I am very interested to see how will 997GT2 final specs look like

In today's 'Auto-Bild': R8 vs 9974S (standard with 355 hp).
R8 results:
0-100 = 4,5 sec
0-200 = 15,5 sec
topspeed = 295 km/h
997 results:
0-100 = 4,6 sec
0-200 = 16,0 sec
topspeed = 294 km/h
Final result: Porsche won with 470 : 448 points (and won all 3 single contests)

Ziga,
Go for TT 3.2 with manual gearbox-just add short shifter as an option(new option for all manual TT's!).
I know that you like S-Tronic(DSG) but, IMHO manual is way more fun...
I saw today new TT 3.2 in Blood Orange(S3 color) with Titanium 19"(RS4 like!) with Black/Signal Orange leather inside-it looked really good!

The R8 numbers in this test are acceptable, I would argue

Official R8 numbers are
0-100km/h: 4.6s
0-200km/h:14.9s
Max: 301km/h
Max speed in AB is typo(295km/h instead 301km/h).
Okay, I thought it was 14.6 sec to 200 kph. In this case the test data is fine.

BTW, In Auto Bild test R8 was 2s faster then 997C4S on Eurospeedway track...
