Re: Audi R8 test in German AMS

I gues the fuel consuption is good...
I don't expect this car to be very popular at least not here in Cro, and not like a white 997 Turbo is

Oh, you mean White 997tt TIP?
Onaj isti koji stoji ispred "Bosanca"?

Or GT Silver TIP that is owned by member of the same group("Bosanac" regular guest stars!)?

Any way, shame that fine car like 997tt is popular here among these people... Well, at least they use TIP version.

Here are some highlights of the article:
    > perfect GT for a mature clientele
    > perfect for sportscar beginners, as the car is very well balanced and forgiving
    > very good chassis which certainly can handle more hp (of course we all know that it has to very soon )
    > they liked the engine (very elastic, nice sound)
    > clutch is very easy to operate, smooth start off the line etc.
    > precise gearbox
    > steering: if you have to sneeze while keeping your hands on the wheel, the car won't change direction
    > 200 km/h feels like 130 km/h....
    > despite the 4wd you can evoke some mild oversteer when playing with the throttle
    > car is very comfortable for long distance spins
    > in the right hands on the track it should be serious competition for 997TT, F430 and Gallardo (this final statement does not seem to fit too well with the core messages of the artice )

Overall it sounds to me like another egg-laying-wool-milk-pig (mix of sportscar/GT-Autobahn-cruiser/comfort car)

    Thanks for the translation .

Re: Audi R8 test in German AMS

    Thanks KresoF1!
Any acc figs of the 997S done by the same magazine to compare?

    Thansk for the mini-translation Porsche-Jeck

I don't see how they can think it's a perfect GT car since there's so little room for any luggage.

Thanks KresoF1! I knew you would be able to get them, you are like a virtual database

420HP and its still slower than the 355HP 997S
Its slow, heavy but at the same time with a mid-negine layout ala dedicated sportcar concept. If you are going to make it mid-engine you better make it perform and handle (like a Gallardo for example) to match otherwise its going to look like a wannabe
Disappointing IMO, it looks like "objective not achieved" project in my view. I was never expecting Audi to make a breakthrough in real sportcars anyway. However the real objective is sales so if it sells well then there is nothing to critizise.

Re: Audi R8 test in German AMS

Hmm yes it is a good competitor of Carrera 4S

Exactly. But you know R8 is a German midengined sportscar and ams is a German car magazine...

Well gentlemen, who predicted it first?

Re: Audi R8 test in German AMS

    Stefan,

You have a bottle of Chivas plus some nice Croatian wine from me.

You were right, 0-200km/h is really slow...

That's fine, Kreso, but get it over here with the 997tt, with the R8 it would get too warm...

Re: Audi R8 test in German AMS

@KresoF1: Hehe, something like that, although I think there are at least 3 white TT997 in Zg, beside the on you mentioned, one them on some green plates and one on some redish (if I remembered correctly) + white GT3 on Vanuatu

Back OT: Ist the r8 really so heavy compared to 997, DAMN, why??

Then you will have to wait till end of the summer...

Actually, FEDEX was my prime idea!

Oh yeah! Vanuatue plates for those Mile Kitic fans...
Did you heard what happened yesterday-some white Murci LP640 was taken by Police from Westin garage... And not only LP640 but, some Mercedes as well.

    Bact OT:

Yes, R8 is too heavy-small pig in fact. Why? Its chassis is pretty heavy... And those delays in R8 production... Audi started to eat far too big cake for them IMHO!

So FEDEX doesn't use R8 in this case...

    (FEDEX is fine BTW)
