When I ordered my meteor grey TT, I almost went with two-tone terra cotta, but it seemed too orange. I thought about a custom dark red or maroon leather. I wound up with a black interior, but it seemed kind of pedestrian.

I agree with you! But, Bordeaux on F430 is actually too light for real Bordeaux! Audi's Classic Red from quattro Gmbh Exclusive range is prefect dark red leather color IMHO.

White with Flaminco red interior used to be a pretty hot combo in 911's in the 80's. I like it, a little too pink for my (and it seems like most of everyone else) but still it's making YOUR can what YOU want.
A darker red like oxblood with say a slate exterior would be fantastic.

Well it certainly stands out. With Porsche's more conservative / traditional style I don't personally think such colours go to well as they would with say a Ferrari 430. Just as well we don't all like the same thing. As someone else here said, a more subtle oxblood red with grey or silver is more my taste.
