Most probably it won't be a real test, but at least we can enjoy the pictures, which are always nice in Autozeitung.
BTW, I think they've chosen the wrong competitors with the F430 and the Turbo. These cars are not in the same league.

I agree. Let's see if they measured R8 or not and if they did how will it compare against such a established class leaders as F430 and 997 turbo.
If R8 do not end third in this comparison test then Audi marketing department could start a small celebration IMHO...
BTW, do not forget:
-997 turbo Supertest in this Friday's Sport Auto
and
-next Wednesday full test of R8 in AMS

Let me say R8 AMS test 0-100kmh 4.0 second 0-200kmh 13.0 second. But i really wonder 997TT supertest. What was the Hockenheim and Ring time??????

And I bought some nice other things recently too, so perhaps I just should stop buying things at all for the next time.
Anyway, I had a intensive test drive of the turbo recently and although being a great, near to perfect car, this car is not for me. So no turbo for me, thank you.
And I'm not the biggest fan of the design of the R8 either, so no R8 for me as well.
So I guess the next step will be the new stallion from Maranello...

I highly doubt the R8 will hit 200kph in 13 seconds, thats faster than the time they acheived with the gallardo. My guess is 0-100 kph 4.4 seconds, 0-200 kph 14.1.

It does make for a great prelude to the R10, which could easily outshine the both F430 and TT.
Let's see how well the R8's chassis, brakes, steering and overall balance stacks up.

There was a similar test done by Automobile magazine here in the US but it involved only the 430 and R8. The R8 held up pretty well though the 430 was the winner. Not surprising given the weight, hp and price difference.
Keep in mind that the 430 is a three year old car. To its credit, it is still holding its own.

So. Basically the F430 won the comparison (if you can call it like this). They said that the Ferrari and the Porsche (for which they stated a totally wrong base price BTW) were in a class of their own and that the Audi does get close but not quite.
But, nice pics as predicted...

As I don't have the magazine with me at the moment, this is what I recall, so don't nail me down on it.
F430 F1 was 3.8 sec to 100 km/h and 12.2 sec to 200 km/h.
For the turbo, which was a tiptronic, the numbers were 3.9 sec and 12.3 sec respectively.
R8 performed in 4.5 sec (not sure about that) and 15.2 sec.

There's a test pitting the R8 against the F430 and the 911S in the new Automobile Magazine here in the states.
They essentially said that the F430 is intense, but the R8 makes up for in usability. The R8 is more brash than the 911 and you couldn't go wrong picking the R8.

Well, didn't I say that I don't believe in the below-15-sec-numbers, didn't I?
But seriously, cars with around 350hp like a Carrera S for example, should reach 200 km/h in about 16 sec. Cars in the 400hp range should be approximately one second quicker, which the R8 seems to be. Nevertheless the official 14.9 sec seem just a tad too optimistic to me.
Autozeitung said nothing about the weight of the cars BTW, they just stated official factory numbers.
