    Well, M5 as a stock car isn't for a Ring

    It's not quite clear to see, but as far as I can see it's the M5 Ring Taxi. No slouch exactly.
    The M5 does seem to roll and skip a bit around the corners, but judging from both time and the rest of the traffic, this is no slow lap.
    The guy in the Impreza or whatever it is, seems to know NBR well and also handles the car really calmly and balanced.

    Having said that, it's no wonder people crash on the Ring.
    Driving this close (especially thru Schwalbenschwanz where the Impreza almost hits the M5) is plain stupid. And the exact reason why in-car cameras are forbidden on NBR: People use it to document "look, I followed the Ringtaxi" etc - and hence drive more recklessly than they prolly would without the cam.

    The intro of the vid (taken in April 2002) claims that Sabine Schmitz has been behind the wheel of the M5.
    Not sure about this - they overtake some cars at the right side which is strictly forbidden on the Ring (the experienced drivers I joined as a passenger strictly stick to this rule, even if some Grandpas in front of us indicated that they would let us pass on the right side)
    Also the M5 "cab drivers" usually don't care about racing any "opponents", they prefer to include some drifts for the fun of their passengers. Last weekend you could see Sabine Schmitz going sideways with the M5, steering with one hand and waving at the crowd with the other hand

    I have been impressed by the set up of Sören's car - it felt almost comfy as a real taxi, but on the other side there was almost no rolling movement to sense in the cabin when he approached the corners at high speeds (and the R-compounds really allowed high speeds in the corners). Of course his special NoS set-up maybe a bit strange for everyday use - if I recall correctly he mentioned 3.5" negative camber (not exactly what you're looking for at high speeds on a straight Autobahn)

    Ah yes the 'Ring Taxi. Best rides of my life (2X) at the 'Ring given it's heavy on the scales and carries three passengers on it's laps. Wonder what the full specs of this Subaru were as that transmission sounds quite loud for stock trim?

    the guy with the scooby certainly knows the ring very well but he almost rear ended the M5 and was driving way too close for comfort....
