....but given the awful pics/sightings of various cars in MC/Lond, have lost my faith in EU re: having better, more innovative design tastes/aesthetics.....

It was the death of Enzo Rossi. That's pretty much what happened. For a while there after Enzo passed Ferrari was in turmoil & the reason you see such conservative designs is because of Montezemolo's conservative philosophy. But I think things will change over time. I just read an interview with him where he said Ferrari will always look to their past but also look to the future with new innovative design.
I agree with you about the TR, that's my favorite Ferrari even though I love the 599 & both M cars.
I disagree with you about the 360. Though I love the 355 the 360 was just as stunning IMO.

I agree with most of what you said. Concerning the Modena, I also think it has a, let's say, good design, it's fluid, it's coherent, it flows from the front to the rear, everthing fits together well, if you know what I want to say. Recently we saw just too many new Ferrari which looked if like were designed from two different persons, one who was responsible for the front part, one for the rear. And then they put these non-fitting part together to one car. Enzo is such an example, but also the F430's rear and nose don't fit together IMO, also 599.
That wasn't the case with the F360, I was only a little bit too disappointed, as I found the Modena just a little bit too elegant for a mid-engined Ferrari, lacking the aggressiveness the 355 delivered par excellence.
