Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

Wow, you didn't miss much. It will be amazing. the only thing I can think of, especially since your getting leather sun visors is the leather dome light

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

    Thanks.

I thought about the dome cover in leather, but I'm OK with the stock look after seeing it in person (trying to save a little dough where I can).

You are kidding with this, right?

    Nice options list BTW!

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

    PCCB

Right, I knew there was something missing.

I'm actually serious. These options can spiral out of control very quickly

I almost skipped the leather visors as well, since I realized I almost never look up at that stuff in my current car!

Re: PCCB...I haven't seen enough consensus that it's worth the $$$$ over the stock brakes.

I think my biggest omission is Adaptive Sport Seats.

I'm still on the fence about this one. But, I looked at both seat types at the dealer, and I'm sure I'll be happy with the stock seats.

There is only opposition to PCCB among people who don't have them. Everyone who does have them swear to never get another car without them.

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

    Are you sure about that?

Look at atomic80(Jason) post in antother thread...

...and very soon there will be(again!) comparison test between 997 turbo brakes-normal vs. PCCBs-Sport Auto of course.

You will be amazed with the resluts...

I've found this is true with most options. Those that have them swear that they are "must have" items, while those that don't seem fine without them.

I know I won't be tracking the car, so that's why I decided to skip the PCCB and A.S.S.

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

Okay, now I'm going to go on the fence here and say definitely get the PCCB and the A.S.S. In fact, I'd go as far as say to eliminate most of the leather options that you chose and get these two options instead. I chose to get them and couldn't be happier. The PCCBs for all intents are the BEST brakes I've ever had/experienced in any car. They're so good that when I first used them, I was giggling like a kid in a candy store. They're that good. If you never plan to track your car then they'd be absolutely perfect for you because of the "lifetime" factor not to mention the fact that they put out a LOT less brake dust and of course the incredible braking performance over the stock rotors. The A.S.S. seats are probably one of the most comfortable seats I'd ever sat in especially since you're able to conform the seats exactly to your frame for those spirited driving moments.

    I'd eliminate these leather options:

    XTV Door Finishers in Leather
    CUX Release lever seats leather
    CVP Trim strip leather

And get PCCB and A.S.S. instead.

FYI, I have these leather options in mine:

CDZ - gear shift trim in leather (added post-delivery)
XSC - Porsche crest in headrest
    XMP - Leather Sun visors
XMZ - Rear Center Console in leather
XNS - Steering column in leather
CUV - Storage compartment lid with model logo

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

Bag the pccb's, a waste of time on a street car and only marginal difference on the track in a 3500# AWD car. Don't know about the green run groups, but in black there is no such thing as 'lifetime' rotors.;)
Def get the ASS seats, that's a no brainer, would cost 5x that to retrofit them later. I would bag alot of that extra leather too, only slightly more noticable over the std full leather imo. Sounds like a well equipped car! Enjoy!

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

LOL...you guys sure are good at spending my money .

PCCBs are not going to happen for me.

I am considering deleting the PCM alum look, and the seat release leather, then adding the adaptive sport seats. Net savings of a about $1400.

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

My order is very similar to yours, except I didn't get the aluminum look stuff, some of the leather, or multifunction wheel, and I did get the A.S.S. (with leather backs). I wasn't planning on the A.S.S. but after my wife and I sat in them and the standard seats, we were sold immediately.

Mine is slate gray with black interior, and should arrive late May / early June. I can't wait!

It's a fun process to spec these cars. And somewhat nerve wracking with all the choices and wondering if you made the right decisions.

I know exactly what you mean about having to draw the line, even though when you look at the order sheet, it sure looks like we're way over the line already!

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

That's what I'd do...remove the PCM alum look and seat release leather and going for the A.S.S. instead.

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

    Eagle,

Totally agree about the nerve wracking part. It's fun too, though.
I'm going to try the adaptives at the dealer again today. The leather backs on yours will be great

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

Remove the PCM alum and go with the LEATHER version....it will block out all that busy-ness on the front panel with the black switches.

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

TX, it's a very fun process and enhanced by the great opinions and suggestions on this forum. They helped me a lot.

The standard seats come with leather backs. But then when you spend thousands more to get the Adaptive Sport Seats, they come with the plastic back. So another big hit to get the leather backs. That was painful. Up the ladder we go!

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

Nice choices.I would add illuminated door sills

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

If $ is a concern ditch:

    3-spoke mutifctn str whl
    XMP Lthr sun visors
    XMZ Rear console leather
    XTV Door finishers leather
    CDZ Gear lev trim lthr
    CPA Thicker Multifcn whl
    CUV Storage lid Model logo
    CUX Release lever seats lthr
    CVP Trim strip leather
    DAD Gear lev/Handbrake alum/lthr
    CCP PCM package Alum look
CDA Air vent slats alum look
CDD Y trim strng whl alum look

    & get PCCB's.

$8800 would not stop me from getting the PCCBs on this car, if there was a fairly unanimous consensus that they are the way to go. What I've seen posted is just the opposite...the big reds are just great.

After driving both kinds of brakes at the March PDE I'd go for the PCCBs. As for a steering wheel get the standard with an eye towards retrofitting a better one later. Leather or Aluminum look PCM to my mind is a waste of money (way over priced). I'm getting a leather trimmed dome light in my car, but I have to admit that in the 2 days I sat in 911's at the PDE I never noticed it or the leather/plastic visors. (To busy having fun.)

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

Thanks for all the input so far...

    I'm thinking I will:

    DELETE - PCM Alum Look

    ADD - Adaptive Sport Seats

    DELETE - Leather seat release

ADD - Doors sills stainless (still not sure about the illuminated part)

    KEEP - The Big Reds

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

Add the illuminated door sills. I have it and it looks awesome whenever I open the door to see this.

Re: Allright guys, here's what I'm getting....

I am getting the ASS, illuminated sills, etc, no PCCB. If the big REDS are good enough for Walter, they are good enough for me............
