But they're heavy and ill suited for performance driving and track use, thus undermining the pure function of the GT3. If you care about appearance over performance, why bother buying a GT3 in the first place?

I was told that they were lighter than the stock wheels, and definitely one of the strongest wheels on the market, even though I don't track the car. And yes a car appearance is important to me. HRE are made for competition and for there fantastic appearance. I donot particularly enjoy stock wheels. In addition, I know four guys with GT3 and none of them track the car. And why did I buy this car if I don't plan on track it, because it's one of the most baddass porsches ever produced, period. I could bought a C2S and load it up with options, but why? For a few more thousand I bought a GT3.

The rule is simple in UK/europe :
If its OEM / factory fit then its not bling
If its aftermarket is it bling/maxpower/ricer
I think that in the US there is a greater level of acceptance of aftermarket product, so many on this forum may find the wheels acceptable.

Maybe this simple rule is valid for you but certainly not for me and I am European too. 
Bling is over the top , too much of something , tasteless and these Antera wheels are certainly nothing of the above.
By your defenition Ruf , Techart and many more are all bling , not so !
