    Help!

I have two options right now for 997 turbo and I need your help. The first one is GT silver/blk with everything exterior painted gt silver, no black, standard options, msrp around 133000. The second one is White/black, standard options plus Ceremic Brakes, and Adaptive Seats, Msrp around 138000. Which one is the better choice? Resale?

I heard from my friend that dealers are starting to discount their tt, Is it true? If so, how much? My friend told me that they are giving 5 to 10 percent off.

    Thank you,

    Re: Help!

    Go for silver

IMO white looks better, but for resale silver is much better.

    Re: Help!

    i seriously doubt 10% off

    Re: Help!

Go with the white. Porsche white is an excellent color particularly on the TT. Having CB and Adaptive seats is also a plus.

BTW, approximately 40% of all Porsche's are silver. Therefore, I am not sure silver would be best for resale.

That is exactly why silver is best for resale. 40% of porsche buyers prefer a silver car.

    Re: Help!

I brought it! Got 2500 dollars off, that is the best i can do! Guess what too, i got the white! It looks gorgeous in person. Picking up the car tomorrow, and will post pictures. One bad thing about the car is that it doesn have Sport chrono! DAMIT! That's the only bad part. Does it really make a huge difference?

    Re: Help!

I would pass it up if it doesn't have SC. 457ft vs 502ft of torque (with SC) is a HUGE difference! It would also affect the resale value sometime down the road too. It'd be worth it to wait for another with SC.

    Re: Help!

You might regret later for not having the SC. Why not just order a car and take delivery in few months? The ordering process, the wait, tracking the ship and the deilvery truck arrival is all part of the fun. Good luck either way

    Re: Help!

Well, if you know me i am not much of a person that likes to wait :-) Will it really hurt the resale value that much? The funny thing with this guy who ordered the car is that he has the PCCB, Adaptive sports seats, lock differential, but no sport chrono. I am still thinking over if i should cancel the deal tomorrow. They are willing to get me 2500 dollars off as of today.

    Re: Help!

Forget about the reasale. It's just not having the most important option on this car that's a bugger. Order a car that you will not regret specially is you are forking out $150K which is a lot of dough. Come on, Wait is fun
Sorry we are making it difficdult for you.

    Re: Help!

I said it before and I'll say it again. Cancel the order..SC is worth waiting for.

    Re: Help!

Well, actually there is another car right now for me to buy at another dealer! A GT Silver car, should i take that instead, GT silver looks good?

I answered you on your other post and cannot emphasize enough that you are making a mistake. For that little money SC is a must, no ifs or buts, period.

Gt silver looks gorgeous! I've seen both white and Gt silver and I would chose silver over white any day...That my 2 cts. And for that matter if the silver has pccb, adaptive, and SC it's even more a no brainer!! Get the silver while it is time!! You'll thank me later!
Not to talk about the resale. Silver with all these options will be much easier to resale, go back to dealer tell him to keep his white TT, and go back grab the silver!

    Re: Help!

...and you wonder why you got $2,500 off the msrp...perhaps because its one of the only tts in existance without sc...as others have said it makes a very noticeable difference particularily when the car is broken in...i would think an non-sc tt would be a non-starter for those in the resale market...silver

    Re: Help!

How many 997TTs were made/sold W/O SC? I spec'd my launch vehicle in Feb.'06. Dealer had no info/specs available. Used 996 info. I did not especialy want the SC option and thougth it was only like the Carrera SC. Dealer reccommended it though and we made a deal on it. Later I found the RENNTEAM site and learned the signifance of the SC. Also learned about LSD and added that to my order. Rec'd car June 19th. Would be totally sick today if no SC. It will kill resale value W/O SC.

    Re: Help!

Thank you very much guys for your input! I did it. I took you guys advice and told the dealer today that i don't want to take that car because of the fact that it does not have sport chrono, especially when this is not a cheaply optioned car, it has pccb, adaptive, nav and.. etc... BUT NO SC. I figure that if this is a base model car it would be a different story but people who are looking for cars with PCCB, they would want the sport chrono package. The white car is very nice, but i cannot be stupid about it since i know no one would want my car later on down the road, unless there is a significant discount.

I called up another dealer and they told me that they have a spot open for May build and I can spec it the way I want. I am seriously considering this, because of you all, telling me that waiting is fun!

Afterall, i spent more then 5 hrs at the dealer for nothing

    Re: Help!

Smart move. As Porsches can be ordered from scratch,--do so! Part of the fun is to be able to order A La Carte.

Good for you. All the fun begins now. Option list, changing options and before you know it the car that was built specifically for you will arrive. Looks like you have some nice toys already to keep you going until June delivery

    Re: Help!

The SC on the TT makes a Huge fifference in performance. here is GT silver.

    Re: Help!

WOW! I'm dying to get mine! Love GT Silver! Didn't get the lowers painted either and it looks just fine!

I JUST GOT A GT SILVER!!!

I just got a GT Silver, got a great deal on it, and will be posting pictures! It has a sticker 138,000, but no pccb but everything else

    1) The PCCB car is more $ but the cost of maintenance over it's life will be less because you wont need to change brake rotors w/ every pad/every other pad change.

2)Re-sale aside just for the fun of ownership factor, the reduced maintenance and hotter looks; DEFINITELY go w/ the PCCB car.

    3) Re-sale considered - ALSO go w/ the PCCB car w/ Adaptive seats.

    No brainer.

    Re: Help!

Oh, the white car doesn't have SC, skip it, you got the right car.

    Re: Help!

Man! that's a sharp lookin car.

Lucky you made the right choice on your own. Can't figure why Porsche would not just make all turbo's w/ SC. Why leave the opportunity for customers to make a drastic mistake, not realizing the benefits of SC and forget to order it, leaving unwanted cars that only get sold to those not knowing any better. Just include the SC geez so you make a few hundred bucks less on each car you'll still be the most profitbale car company on earth and you wouldn't have customers pissed at themselves and "totally sick" for screwing up their dream cars just because of a little more profit. Shame. Probably asking too much I guess. At least make all turbo's w/ SC and jack up the msrp if you can't bare the though of not making money on an option.

Re: I JUST GOT A GT SILVER!!!

Congrats! GT-Silver is a great color. Look at twinturbo001's car. Saaahh weet!
