    To me it looks good too. Not as classy as a 911, but it has presence and will do its job very well. If there would not be the 911, I would probably buy this car.

    I guess I'm grumpy because I must be "old." Try as I might, with my pre-Alzheimers brain I can't comprehend the latest progress and innovation in the research and development of mirror styling.

    I'm sure BMW's F1 engineers have been teaching the streetcar division's engineers about Bernoulli's principle -these mirrors make a difference for sure when it comes to high performance driving

    Especially since their top speed will be electronically limited.

    So again, why are these pictures on the 997 board? Should they not be in the Sports Car Board?

    One good reason is the M3 is for alot of guys the only logical alternative to the 997, at least in the USA.

    IOW, lots of guys have to decide between these two cars before they make a move to buy either one (or both). Would make sense that it comes up here on a 997 board.

    It's a bit batmobile-ish, I'll agree. And I dislike the swoopdy-doo rocker ground effects as well. It could be cleaned up and still be aggressive enough. But I do love the wheels..

    Pretty much, I think the car's a knock-out until you get to the bottom 6 inches of it (not including the wheels). Oh well, I don't want one anyhow. Been there done that buying a tarted-up version of an econo-box platform. Nothing wrong with that if you're buying a muscle-car, after all, that's the definition of a muscle car. But when I'm looking for a sporting car, I like the more purpose-bred rides.
