    F430 new radio

    Anybody know anything about the new radio/infotainment system? I think you get it if you've ordered the upgraded sound.

    this is new unit in 612, maybe it will be common across whole ferrari range ?

    You get an all new Bose Infotainment system with navi-LCD in the Scaglietti. You can't get that neither in the 599 GTB nor in the F430. For the F430 you get a navi that is identical with the Becker Cascade navi system. Sound system has nothing to do with it, it comes as an extra with separate speakers between the seats, rest of the speakers is identical to the standard version.

    I've never used the stereo in the 430 - the exhaust note is too intoxicating!

    Yep, that's true. Radio is the least important thing in a F430.

    I guess we will see the LCD in 599 as well, but I heard the sound system won't fit there. The 430 surely won't get the new navi, so expect it to appear in the next generation V8.

    I do love my 430, but the hi-fi and navigation are crap compared to my Gallardo
    I don't understand why but I can still not manage to be my phone to work correctly with the 430 radio

    Ferrari only learns how to do good hi-fi/navi systems right now, as you can see with the bose-system for the Scaglietti presented in Geneva. Lamborghini can benefit from Audi very much in that respect.

    Would argue (aside from F's dubious passive safety), 430 is more daily-useable than any G/997TT in terms of ground clearance, Bluetooth, iPod integr, trunk space and fuel tank capacity....and doubt any audio purist can distinguish stereos in high noise/vibr/harshness sportscars anyway....

    And 599 is almost SL65-like in its daily useability....in fact, would argue that, if 599 had CL-like safety, even CL63 would be largely irrelevant.....

    Oh great - proximity sensors on the radio control panel . We'll see how well that works in the real world of cold/humidity/gloves,etc. Most manufacturers can't even get their remote keyless unlock/lock/start function to work half the time. Heck, seems people can't even get ancient tech like memory seats/steering/mirrors to remain synched over time.

    I dont understand why you need sound system in Ferrari ? This V8 (or V12 in 599) engine gives better sound than any song on the world

    I do long trips in Europe as well as using the car everyday.
    Whilst the exhaust note is certainly intoxicating and exciting,the standard sound systemm is crap.I hope the upgraded system in my new car will be better.

    I get your point and hope the upgrades HiFi will please you, but I fear the upgraded system won't be that much better.

    traxx , timr: I know, it wasnt meant serious, but it was just a joke

    Im looking from different angle, I had chance to drive in Ferrari as a passanger just a few times (once in Modena with challenge exhaust, once in 599 GTB and a few times in Maserati Spyder Cambiocorsa) so I always enjoyed sound very much - its definitely the best and the nearest to F1. But If I would owe Ferrari and drive it every day, I would defenetly listen somthing else and not only engine`s sound - if no other, I would listen traffic reports where police checks out speed limits

    I hope you will be able to improve HiFi
