    Re: GT2 sans camo

disappointed ! .. in 996 , its realy looks elegant , perfect , balanced in the look .. but that 997 , looks turbo with X50 kit ...
in 996 you cant say that the turbo looks better , but in 997 , i think some guys will prefere the turbo , look more complete , more balanced ... i hope they changes their mind and try to make it a GT2 as we expect ...

the car looks SERIOUS! I love it! perhaps the back bumper looks a bit silly with all those vents but I suppose it's due to testing...

did you notice how big the front brake discs are?

Those air vents remind me of those of a Saleen.

    Re: GT2 sans camo

Front looks pretty good to me, rear is an abomination
That must be the ugliest stock wing I have ever seen.

And those vents in the rear bumper ....

With 525 bhp and 150 kg less weight, it will be fast enough.

    More HP are always welcome!

Just keep the car light and the handling would be awesome!

What good is it if you can't use it?

    Looks good on paper.

    No LED rear lights?

IF the 911 face lift is due on Sep. I bet they will swap those LED lighting on the GT2. They don't need to put it on now, the LED is already tested on the 911.

IMO the best of both world is keep the current shape and upgraded it with LED technology.

Or perhaps we will see the the facelift not before 2008, together with DI engines for the standard 997. And this facelift will affect the whole 911 range, from Carrera to GT2.

if they will put the led lights of the Carrera restyling they must change also the rear bumper..and this doesn't happen!

so,or the led lights will come in two different shape(one for the regular carrera restyling and one for the Turbo/Gt2/GT3 with the "old" lights shape...)or for the GT2,Turbo,Turbo Cabrio,Gt3 and GT3 RS the rear lights will not change and so NO led on these for at least two years..

Maybe not for 2008, that's what my dealer told me.
BUT...after I have seen a R8 with lots of LED and 599, even a Toyota. I have a feelings that everything gonna change on SEP. Plus the this is not the final style, there are still lots of room to go IMO.

Anyhow, the GT2 already looks awesome at this stage. I believe the final product gonna

And you think that after an year of production they restyle the GT2 and Turbo Cabrio too??

Very hard to tell. I would have expected that at least the turbo cab will get the new lights too, but obviously that's not the case. That's really confusing.

    Re: GT2 sans camo

    About the LED.

I think we have to wait until SEP to know the truth.

It doesn't make sense to me if the GT2 don't have the LED.

Agreed. Loved the way the front/rear bumpers look on the 996 GT2. Wish the 997 turbo had that look. The 997 GT2 isn't a very good looking car imho, the front is pretty cool but hopefully that rear is not close to production.

    Re: GT2 sans camo

I'm sure, that this isn't the final view of the rear. GT2 isn't possible to have only two and so small tail pipes. And at these pictures there isn't room for more... Also look at the lowerest part of the rear bumper - for me it is still a camo...

LED has been around for many, many years. It's way of life, not a trend. It will continue to be here for a long time. Porsche needs to be completely on board.

hehehehe !!! ... have a look on this pic maybe you change your mind about 996 head lights ... BTW its the most interisting thing in the 996 .

    996 = GT1 + GT2 + turbo + GT3 RS + GT3 + carrera .

in 1997 the GT1 revealed , its research and development on aerodynamics only worths your whole 997 line ...
by the way , i`ll be interested if you tried to be close to 1997 996 GT1 or to smill his smoke in a lap on nurbergring by any of your 997 line .

" I hate the busy looking headlight and where is the sexy ass? " ... have a look "reminding only"
