    997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

    Hi Guys

Are there any differences between the 997 GT3 sprigs and the 997 s sport spring concerning the Height of the car?

    Thanks

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

    all is different .

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

I dont know the specific answer to your springs question but a GT3 sits lower than a standard 997 with the -20mm suspension. I believe that a GT3 is -30mm.

    Normal 0mm
    PASM -10mm
    sports -20mm
    GT3 -30mm

i think this is the right answer

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

    Correct

    Normal 997
    S -10 pasm
    S sports susp/- 20
    GT3 -30 cm

    Florent

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

not correct ...Gt3 is adjustable ..so you can make your own height .

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

Carrera S has standard coil springs

GT3 has adjustable PASM coil overs

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

Is the height of the S different with PASM On/Off or is it -10mm in both modes?

It is always -10mm irrespective of which mode it is in.

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

Does anyone know if you can put a GT3 suspension on a 997S?

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

Why????? Just buy a GT3 if thats what you want to achieve. 997S is a softer less edgy car, thats the whole point.

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

I can think of one reason -- they don't make a Cabriolet GT3.

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

There is a reason for that: body flex and poor resultant suspension control.

The one thing that really upsets me is why PASM sport setting is SOOOO BBOOUUNNCCYYY on the 997S. What do you guys do to deal with this? Does deflating/inflating tires help? Stiffer or softer sidewall tires???

    Any Thoughts: P/O'ed in BeanTown...

i think if you use stiffer springs PASM will be less bouncy because the car is softly sprung so makes PASM shocks work more

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

Adam2S - I'll leave your lack tact out of it. The reason for wanting to know if the GT3 suspension will fit a 997S is the same reason why anyone would want to buy aftermarket springs. A GT3 suspension setup would provide an OEM solution that has been thoroughly tested, more so than just straight aftermarket. Also, the GT3 was only available this year and in limited numbers otherwise, I would have bought one.

    Re: 997 GT3 Sprigs & 997 s Sport Springs

Hmmm, Id still be very warey of putting even OEM GT3 springs on a non GT3 car. I think you will massivly devalue the car - I am sure I am not alone in saying I would never buy a car that was not completly stock. Therefore I think it would be cheaper and easier to trade up to a GT3 in the long run.Thats what I was meaning when I said why wouldnt you ust buy a GT3 instead.

Each to their own though, you pay your money and you take your choice.
