I cannot tell you about the retrofit, but I can comment on the module (which I had put in my Carrera S by the dealer when I purchased the car. Bottom line--I don't like it.
First, pulling the chip out of your cell phone whenever you get in the car is a pain, as is removing it when you leave. You could solve this by getting two phones, but then you have two numbers for you and folks to remember.
Secondly, the buttons are small and dialing is not easy if you are in traffic.
Third, my wife always complains she can barely hear me most of the time because of background road/engine noise.
If other folks have ways to solve these problems, I would love to hear comments. For now, I will stick to my cell ear piece..

I have the telephone module on my MY06 CTT - I think it works fantastic! Very clear and never had distortion problems.
Regarding the removing of the SIM card the entire time - I agree.
What my cellular provider did was gave me 2 SIM cards with the same number, but when the one in the car is switced on it overrides my cellphone's card. So when the car is off again - my cellphone works by itself automatically. Problem solved

Sounds like a good tip. I've just done an internet search to look at the parrot 3200 - certainly looks like it's the most modern technology available.
- Whereabouts relative to the steering wheel do you have it fixed? - Any pictures?
- Is there much wiring involved in the installation as we may want to use it between two cars?
- I think I read that there is 10 hours battery time meaning it has to be removed to be recharged - or does it run from the car battery - or both?
- I don't suppose it will show incoming text/ SMS messages will it?
