Its not doing it for me either at the moment. Ive no regrets right now about turning my back on my deposit for the M3 in favour of a 997S. (deposit is refundable anyway).

Looks disappointing, exactly what I expected.
The good news is that it looks merely ugly and NOT a total f'ed up dog.
So I could buy one to replace my current 04M3, but, because I'll never love the looks of the car, it's not gonna be a reeeeally happy delivery day.
What's funny is when the Z3 came around it was disgusting to look at, however I speculated that I might come to like it with time. Turns out _that_ look still is ugly to me but not disgusting anymore.
Even more bad news is you can't parallel park the M3 anymore without risking a us$2000 damage to the front end and grille. IMO stupidest dumbest most idiiotic move by BMW of all time. No bumpers means no longer an "Ultimate Driving Machine;" more like a big move closer to "Ultimate Show Car and Garage Queen"
The M3 looks like the Z4. At least those girlie angel eyes didn't reappear:

it's OK. I'm just pi**ed I'm not thrilled about anything BMW has done stylistically in the past 5 or so years.

Hahahaha, you guys are just worried that the M3 CSL (this Concept will most likely form the basis for the next M3 CSL) will kick some serious Porsche a$$, especially now that the 997 GT3 RS was one second slower than the 996 GT3 RS around the Nurburgring in the Sport Auto Supertest - now there's progress for you

Come on temm... you should know better.
Why would Porsche actually improve their product when they have these guys lining up willing to pay twice as much for the next Louis Vuitton car.
Seriously though... kudos to BMW for pushing 400 HP into a 3 series. Now that's progress & product improvement. Porsche are you listening?

thats suck...really suck...
Porsche just change the look and charge more for the RS but do nothing to improve the performance. Sometimes I think I am lucky just because I didn't buy one.
I am just hoping the best from the GT2! I wish Porsche wont fuc'ed up this flagship 911!

I knew some drivers in the US were a bit challenged when it comes to parallel parking (even though you have parking slots that an aircraft carrier could berth in compared to those we have in the UK/Europe) but I didn't think any Rennteamers would be afflicted

Just to poke some more fun to try to dissipate my disappointment:
The good news is I can relplace my current M3 with a new one and not vomit when looking at the new one. IOW, it's not a _completely_ fugly car. Maybe whe seen in person I'll feel even less bad.
BTW, the only reasons I'd get the new M3 (to replace my current 04M3 which is running out of warrenty) are that:
1. my 997S isn't good for airport runs.
2. my 997s is kind of a PITA to drive if you're tired. carrera requires lots of attention to drive, it also fits like a glove and is hard to get in an out of compared to a M3.
3. when I'm tired or bored driving I still want to get intermittantly frisky (between "naps" during rush hour) so having the SMG-equipped M3 with excess HP/Tq is the next best thing to driving the Porsche.
Gotta have both cars. Not a question of one over the other. BOTH are great cars.
