    First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

    One down already!

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

    Looks like England??

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

LOL cool, i guess that will increase the value of the car for the other 29 owners

Anyway, it's probably still worth more than an Enzo, even in that state!

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

    LOL! Bugatti VeyrOWNED!

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

I think it is the UK from the style of the road signs. The B375 is a minor road in Chertsey in Surrey. Also the white circle with black diagonal line is a national speed limit sign. Plus the guy in the first pic looks like a British policeman in typical high visibility clothing. So I think it's safe to assume it's the UK.

I wonder what this guy hit? Since it's a Veyron, it's inevitable the tabloid press will report some stereotypcial article in tomorrow's papers like "City financial whizzkid in Pounds1million crash".

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

i believe this Bugatti could be one of 8 (the red one) in Dubai. 2 of them have been shipped to England

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

Well, they are rumoured not to be able to corner very well.

You're probably right. Keep us posted easy_rider!

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

    from another site:

Information is sketchy, but it's thought that a pool of water on the road caused the AWD supercar to lose traction and then spin out of control, sending it head first into a ditch on a road near Shepperton in the UK.

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

    what an ugly color

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

Hurst, you are absolutely correct. Trying to do a throw back to the 1930's is not the most attractive I have seen.

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

are they repairing them at all since puttin them on the market caused loss for Bugatti! i wonder if they can charge rediculous amounts for fixing to be able to make some money back. we know putting this machine on the roads was a huge loss for them.

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

Man, what a shame. If that were my Veyron I'd be crying my eyeballs out

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

It's a sad thing about the car, but at least the owner is using it

And judging by those photos he didn't drive it recklessly, but then sh** happens some times

Any high-end car is typically fully insured; and, in US, prob 90% of $200K+ cars are $0 down-leased anyway, so lease-gap cvg kicks in...so total loss means little to the insured owner/driver.....

If really concerned re: safety, doubt any SUV (incl Cayenne)is desirable in any weather if one fully considers active/passive attributes (e.g., braking/handling ability; rollover risk; roof strength; seat strucs/seat belts/head restraints; airbag systems; fuel tank rupture resistance; etc etc) .....if in a risk-averse mood, would rather be in a new S/CL63 in any conds, except S550 4Matic in <40degF conds....

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

    Taken from the article:

    Quote:
OH Buga! A supercar worth Pounds830,000 is loaded on to a truck after the world's costliest road crash.

The sleek Bugatti Veyron - one of only a dozen in the UK - was wrecked in a smash in pouring rain.

Yesterday insurance assessors began working out whether the hand-built French motor was repairable - or the most exclusive write-off on the planet.

A police source said it was thought the Veyron - capable of 253mph - was doing around 100mph when it slewed out of control.

It spun three times, hitting a Vauxhall Astra with a seven-months pregnant woman inside, before smashing into trees up a 3ft bank.

The woman was taken to hospital for a check-up but was alright.

The Bugatti driver, who was with a younger male passenger, was reported by police for driving without due care and attention.

The smash happened shortly after 3pm on Sunday on a 40mph stretch of the B375 near Chertsey, Surrey, a known crash blackspot.

It is understood the wrecked car was taken away by the SAME truck driver who had delivered it to the owner just a week earlier.

One witness who took our exclusive photos said: "It was clearly an almighty bang. Bits of Bugatti were strewn all over the road.

"The front had been virtually ripped off, every panel was damaged and the front wheels were pointing in opposite directions."

The witness said the "fed-up" driver and passenger were staring at the Bugatti when a third man drove up in a 4x4 and started raging at them. The Bugatti is owned by a businessman in his 40s who runs a car hire and management company with his brothers.

Outside their home yesterday a man claimed he had rented it to the driver for Pounds20,000 a day and that it was bought for Pounds925,000 - more than the list price. Nick Lancaster, Chief Executive of dealers HR Owen which sold the motor, said: "It is the first Veyron I have heard of being damaged. We cannot say yet whether it is written off or not."

The Veyron, built at the Bugatti Automobiles company in Molsheim, Alsace, boasts almost as much power as an F1 car. A Bugatti spokesman said: "If it can be repaired, it will be quickly and efficiently. The owner will be looking at a substantial bill."

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

Thanks for the newspaper extract - the tone of it was exactly what I was expecting from the UK tabloid press...

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

that should buff out. It is a goofy looking car especially in patchwork paint.

Mike S forgot to quote the best part:

    Now that's quality journalism.

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

    Hahaha yeah

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

If the above information is correct I'd like to pull back my " " to the driver for using his car.

Keep us posted on how the story unfolds, I'd not be very surprised if this turns out to be a different story than the one told so far..

(I don't have any other info myself, but journalists don't seem to be very critical of their sources these days)

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

I don't think 'The Sun' has ever let the truth get in the way of a good story that might sell a few more copies...it is a Rupert Murdoch newspaper after all. God, I hate that man.

    Re: First Bugatti Veyron CRASH!

    Now its pointlessness becomes visible
