in the for what its worth dept...i really like the alcantera roof liner, i.e. your not going to be handling it much, unless your upside down ...the steering wheel well i think it would be perfect if you needed to stick fishing lures or hooks in it for any reason..imo stick with leather it drives well and cleans up great

Maybe the alcantera is offered to solve problems. Like it's really hot or cold where the car is kept, or for better grip for weaker or tired hands, or deeply held personal preference for soft coverings.
Try it before you buy it. IMO, it's not the best material for a wheel; may become yet another maintenance issue (who needs that?). Leather is proven for durability and comfort.

Alcantara provides a non slip surface for seats, steering wheels, shift levers and e-brake levers. The problem is it does not wear well. The slippage problem is better solved with a pair of driving gloves, which are easier to replace and make leather surfaces last much longer with a minimum of maintenance.

Yeah, non slip. Seems funny to get it on Adaptive Sport Seats since the bolsters lock you in place.
The other non-slip DIS-advantage is you can get your panties in a jamb when you try to adjust yourself while seated.
Good for where it's cold all the time, but then you get heated seats for that.
Wear faster, A.S.S., panties in jamb, heated seats option: doesn't look good for Alcantera seats (which really is a great fabric).
