    Possible Cayman S order- suggestions welcome

    I'm thinking of ordering a Cayman S for 2008. Suggestions on options and colors welcome. Thanks


    Meteor grey or arctic silver metallic
    Stone Grey std. or Natural Grey leather interior
    19" Sport Design Wheels
    PASM
    Sport Chrono package
    colored wheel crests
    Floor mats
    Auto-climate control (Hawaii heat means AC always)
    Bose system
    Sport steering wheel
    Power seats
    Self-dimming mirror & rain sensor (Hawaii rain)

    Xenons?
    Red seat belts?
    Aluminium door entry guards?

    Just a few options that add the finishing touch.
    That and the leather rear centre console.

    It's a double clutch gearbox, similar to the DSG system that's available on some VWs and Audis.

    It's supposed to be available for MY 2008.

    mine has:
    artic silver
    xenons
    full leather
    sports seats
    cruise control
    upgraded HIFI
    sports steering wheel
    that's it...
    Though I am quite happy with the choice, I would add the following the next time:
    PASM
    Sports Chrono
    GPS + phone
    bigger steering wheel
    some carbon fitting
    Will order these thinks on the next one, probably a 911 S

    Thanks. What interior color did you get with arctic silver?

    I'm thinking of natural grey. It's expensive but a bit more to my taste than straight black.

    Or I might go meteior grey on natural grey or stone grey.

    Would def get rear-centre-console in leather, and consider the smooth leather finish on the sport steering wheel. It matches the other leather better.
    No-one uses the Bose... but everyone likes to have it! (I have it.)

    Interior is black. Was hesitating between cocoa and black. Dealer convinced me that black is always lasting the longest in comparison with other colors. Don't know if this is true but the black is more a dark grey (anthracite) for me.

    That sounds wise. Black leather and natural grey leather look almost identical, as you may know, but the carpet of the latter is a lighter, grayer color. I was thinking of meteor grey and natural grey. I like arctic silver, but have had a number of cars already in that color. Though I really like the classic look of silver on black or dark grey.

    Yes, Chipper the color is also a function of previous car's colors. To be honest I really love red or yellow. My wife didn't want that. So we went for the 100% rational decision. Must say though that I love the silver color for cleaning and for resale.

    I agree completely, German. Silver is classic and while it doesn't excite everyone, few people object to it when it comes to resale. Do you have an pics of your car to share? Aloha, Chipper

    Hi Chipper. Here are a couple of my thoughts for what they are worth. Both colors you are considering are nice, but take a look at Atlas Grey. It is truly a stunning color in the sunlight. Pictures don't do it justice, has to be seen in person. As for the wheels, consider going with 18's. Less unsprung wieght equals better handling. You will also have more tire choices come replacement time. With PASM the 18's I believe are a much better choice. Finally don't foget to try the manual sport seats. I find them very comfy, and when you are out playing they keep you firmly planted. With the sport seats I've never needed to brace myself against the dead pedal when playing. Sounds like a great spec overall. Enjoy the car when it comes.

    Thanks Paralizer for the tips and German for the great pics. So both of you went for the 18s rather than 19s? And you recommend 18s with PASM? I'll check out Atlas Grey. I've seen it on a base Cayman on stone grey and it looked great. What interior color would you suggest with Atlas Grey? I wonder if black or dark gray would make the whole car too dark? So would you go with stone grey? Or what? Thanks again, Chipper

    Chipper, I have PASM and ultimately ordered the 18's. I've been very pleased with the results. I have Atlas Grey with a full leather interior in black. I considered the stone grey and the two-tone stone grey/black. Both look great with Atlas Grey. I choose to go with black only because I was concerned with trying to keep the stone grey looking good long term as it is such a light color. If I have coffee spill or a little dirt/water on my shoes it's much less noticable with a black interior. So many possibilities with a factory order. Have fun.
