WOW! Where did you get this pic from!

Dramatically similar, as I said, seems as if car designers run out of ideas, furthermore both cars look like Japanese production IMO.

    Re: Official A5 photos released

    And front comparison to E92.

I like A5 much more than BMW 3 coupe, but it is not that good I was hoping for - more Nuvolari look

    Re: Official A5 photos released

The front looks much better though.

    Re: Official A5 photos released

    One more picture:

    Re: Official A5 photos released

great pics! looks ok but i am not impressed, the s5 looks good. and yes designers lacks imagination..

Never mind, they are leaked photos.
I guess the S5 is going to rival the BMW 335i, while the new M3 will get a RS5 rival.

    Re: Official A5 photos released

    exactly Temm

    Re: Official A5 photos released

Looks like a RS4 limo mixed with the new BMW 3er Coupe rear. Rossi, good point.

That's a gruesome car. Maybe I'm suffering from audiphobia, but IMO Audis always are straining after some kind of effect -- but are boring nonetheless.

    Re: Official A5 photos released

    Quoted from Audiworld.com:

Couple of interesting comments from AoA...

The New A5 will offer Torque Vectoring Quattro where the system will be able to shift power not only from rear to front wheels but also independantly to the left and right rear wheels through a differential - a first for Audi - should make for awesome handling...

    Re: Official A5 photos released

    New Quattro system

Aware that it needs to maintain the top-flight reputation of its quattro all-wheel-drive systems, one of Audi AG's chief vehicle engineers says it will introduce a highly advanced form of quattro later this year.
Michael Dick, Audi's head of Total Vehicle and Chassis Development, tells Ward'sPrimedia Business - Ward's Auto World, Click Here! the auto maker will incorporate so-called torque-vectoring technology into the next-generation quattro system slated to launch later this year in Europe for the all-new A5 coupe, to be quickly followed by the eighth-generation A4 sedan, which comes to the U.S. in early 2008. Both vehicles are built on the same all-new architecture.
Torque vectoring takes all-wheel drive to another level by varying drive torque not just between front and rear axles but also between wheels on the same axle.
By adjusting torque side-to-side, a higher degree of handling performance is achieved by delivering more torque to the outside wheel in a corner, turning the vehicle more sharply and precisely.
Torque vectoring also is a way to enhance safety, in effect an "active" form of the brake system-based vehicle stability control systems now common.
Dick says the next-generation quattro with torque vectoring will retain Audi's longstanding Torsen (torque-sensing) center differential to apportion torque between the front and rear axles, but adds a differential on the rear axle, incorporating electronically controlled clutches, to selectively apportion torque between the rear wheels.
Dick says Audi began testing its torque-vectoring quattro system early last year, and engineers will be ready to launch the system with the new A5 and then in performance-oriented S and RS variants of the all-new A4 sport sedan.
Dick says the torque-vectoring quattro system will deliver "driving dynamics as no Audi (has) before."

    Re: Official A5 photos released

Thanks Andrea, now that is interesting news

This new system sounds like the one Nissan has in the GT-R.

Nissan's high-performance Skyline GT-R also has an AWD system that effectively vectors torque.

    Re: Official A5 photos released

I like audi's line-up of sedans, clean lines and nice interiors.

    Re: Official A5 photos released

Nuvolari shows it's age after 4 years , with a prev " rounded " generation Audi TT look and previous generation MBZ CL class tapering rear pillar. The car world is going to crisper ,stronger, flowing ,wave like lines instead of simple arcs and the A5 is just following the expected consumer preferance trend . Plus , the Nuvo's gaping front grill and rear lamps are assoc with current A4,Q7 ,A3,A6 Wagon etc. and was intended to prepare the Audi faithful for that "new" look in 2005.

    Re: Official A5 photos released

    New picture of the black S5 in motion, I haven't found a high-res version.....yet

    Re: Official A5 photos released

    S5... In Germany...

    Re: Official A5 photos released

Kreso i am going to start think you are a CAR SPY.

    Nice find...

The car looks boring to me.

    Re: Official A5 photos released

    another

    Re: Official A5 photos released

I expected more power. This car needs a biturbo 4.2 to compete with the M6.

Sporty 2 -door coupes usually have a very short sales/interest span , other than perhaps a MBZ CL and Bimmer 3 series . Peak sales usually first year , than down hill to nil after 4 th year . Conservative styling that wears better over time usually is std operating procedure in this niche.

    Re: Official A5 photos released

Is it an A4 or A6 chassis? If it is competing against a 3 series, then it has an A4 chassis?

Have had both a 3 series and A4, I like the way the Audi drives better.
