    "Strap yourselves in ladies and gentlemen, because this week's Top Gear is even more power-crazed than usual.

    Jeremy goes seriously schnell as he takes the latest 720bhp creation, from German manufacturer Brabus for a spin on the test track.

    We give Porsche's latest 911 Turbo flagship a full shake down, and see whether the everyday supercar has become a bit, well, everyday.

    And Richard and James embark on Top Gear's biggest ever challenge, as they try to turn a Reliant Robin into a space shuttle. Trust us, you really, really don't want to miss this.

    Plus comedy actor Simon Pegg will be joining us in the studio and doing his bit on the test track in our reasonably priced car."

    I checked the topgear website but nothing on what will be on the show.

    I don't see it on there list of programs. I know Discovery Sci channel has old episodes. You have a link?

    Top Gear and Fifth Gear episodes are also archived, encoded and torrented on Finalgear.com

    You can find most of the past episodes there.

    Don't sweat if you missed this on TV, you can always download it there. Jason Plato's review of 997 Turbo last year on Fifth Gear is also there.

    Have to say this isn't good news...

    Clarkson reviewed the Turbo for the Sunday Times (British newspaper for our foreign friends!) a while ago and gave it 3/5 stars saying whilst it was "quite" fast and effective- he's had more fun whilst knitting. Other claims included "sounds like a muted hoover" and "souless- a very fast VW Golf"

    Why on earth have Porsche given the car to him to review when they know he despises their brand and in particular the 911?!

    The only thing that could save the Turbo for this review is if Hammond is driving it... so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Am also hoping that the Top Gear test track is nice and dry so the Turbo (hopefully with PCCB) can blitz round in an unbelievable time and stun Clarkson into saying nothing derogatory about the car...

    LOL!!! I for one am not looking for JC to validate my TT purchase... more for the entertainment. He bought an orange gallardo spider for himself... I think we have different tastes.

    Hmmm... well I guess I slightly exaggerated the negative comments he made!! I read it a fairly long time ago in defense of my memory! I think he also mentioned the Turbo in his Top Gear magazine column one month last winter too so maybe that's where he made the comments I remember up above!

    Maybe there is some hope after all...

    I was quite surprised when he wrote that since I have been waiting for 2 years for them to bring it back here. Discovery I think had the rights to it. They replay old episodes. Let me tell you an easy way to do it! As I have this season.

    Sunday night or Monday morn go to Youtube type in Top Gear, sort by date. It has worked so far. But you have to be quick, by Tuesday they are gone.

    Well here is the quote off the BBC2 website into their reasoning for having JC do the review.


    "Turbo fan James and Richard love the Porsche 911. Jeremy hates it. So with a new 911 Turbo out, it seemed only fair to let Captain Slow and the Hamster take it for a blast. However, it seemed far funnier to hand the 480bhp supercar over to JC to see whether it was good enough to convert a life-long Ferrari fan."

    Ahhhh, so just remember if it is funny it is a good review.

    I also see in December of last year JC stated he liked the GT3's engine better:

    " More impressive still is the quality of its performance. The engine is the greatest one used in any Porsche today, including that in the more powerful, but softer, road-oriented Turbo."


    With "Hazza's" post and the info I found, I am ready for the "Funny" review!

    I just watched topgear and he said it was better than a F430 in every way.

    He then said that he prefered the ferrari because he has passion for F-cars and don't have any for a 911.

    I respect that.
