    There have been three runs of GT1s:
    1996: the car in tony h's post. 993 look-alike.
    1997: same car, but with 996 headlights. Picture
    1998: deep changes. I think most street versions I've seen are the 1998 model.

    Your Picture shows a 1998 car, but if you have seen several street version cars, then they'll be 1997s.

    You're right.
    The photo I linked was indeed a 98. They did not win in 97, so it wouldn't be displayed in the Porsche museum.

    It's odd, the 98 model looks much closer to the 96 model.

    The '98 model was more one off then the '96 and '97 versions. Only two '96 models were ever produced and they had the round 993 headlights. One apparently is in Texas as the moment. '97 cars had the change to the new 996 head and tail lights.

    Swap Shop (huge flea market in South Florida)and drive-in theater
    PS - He won the Daytona 24 Hour in 1983 and 1985 and was second at Le Mans in 1984.
