EnglishManInNY:Did any tesla owners get their GT3 yet? Looks like mine won't be here until October.....
What was your original build date and did it change? Since no US car will ship until mid September, assuming your car car is completed before that date, the earliest you'll see your car is end of October. My completion date is September 15th but does not get on a boat until October 13th.

Dealer won't give me a concrete build date. Just that it's due to be built in September. Feels like they are managing my expectations. Same thing with my TTS but that got here a month earlier than they told me.

Your dealer is playing games. The PVMS on your car is available. Ask for the most recent one and it will give you up to date information regarding build date and delivery.

Can one more talented than myself photoshop the wing endplates in body color as they were on the 991.1? To have them in black remains an eyesore to me.

Gauss, this video should be taken with somewhat of a grain of salt because it comes from a maker of carnuba wax. Mostly accurate video, but some things are exaggerated. What turned you off the coating specifically?
I use a coating on my GT4 so that after washes, all I need to do is use a detailing spray to wipe it down and make it free of water spots. Dirt doesn't stick as easily to the surface and I don't need to reapply. I use a consumer coating that lasts about 2 years. Every 2 years the car gets polished (which you will need to do anyway regardless of wax or coating) to remove contaminants in the paint and remove any scratches. Carnuba wax is fine, but you're lucky if it lasts more than a month in hotter climates. Certainly not 1 year like the guy in the video says.
On my Lotus, since it only gets driven once a month, I can use any type of sealant / wax and not worry about durability.
I don't view XPEL and wax/coating as accomplishing the same purposes. Xpel is for preventing rock chips mostly, but it does add some orange peel to the paint because it is not as smooth as real paint. It's a thick physical barrier. Coatings / wax / sealants are more for protecting from contaminants and preventing dirt from sticking.

Hi all,
I would be interested to know what you make of my car build process.
Should I be concerned the car was painted, mounted and inspected in just 48 hours? I thought the usual process takes 1 week???
15th of July was a Saturday.
Car painted on the following Tuesday.
The only (slightly) uncommon option ticked was Sports Seats Plus backrests in leather.
It's my first GT car, and I intend to keep this car for a looong while, so I'm concerned with the effort (or rather the lack of) that was put into assembling the car.

No doubt this faster than normal. But the factory is about to close so they are building as many and as fast as possible.

I think this Satin (matte) clear bra is pretty interesting with GT Silver. Almost makes it look like bare metal...
