    These are very wise words!

And the reason why we all keep on buying sports cars.

    Re: Too generous!

No one already could post some pics of new 997 FACELIFT??

    We need it. . . .

    Re: Too generous!

Anyone hazard a guess whether Porsche will need to update the X51 Powerkit too to be compatible with this new setup?

As Direct Injection is supposed to yield anywhere from 5-25extra BHP let's guess at what the new performance figures will be. 0-100kph times:

  • Current Carrera S (355bhp) = 4.8s
  • Current Carrera S +X51 (381bhp) = 4.6s
  • Facelift Carrera S (375bhp?) = 4.7s?
  • Facelift Carrera S +X51 (400bhp?) = 4.5s?
  • Facelift Carrera S +X51 +PDK (400bhp?) = 4.3s?

Porsche seem to like neat positioning of each model in the range so I assume that the Carrera S in any variant wont be faster than a GT3 (4.3s to 100kph), so perhaps my last listed setup will be limited to 4.4s?!

    What do you think?

  • Er, just one question: do you really think you will notice the difference up to 100kph at all?

    Re: Too generous!

I supose up to 100kph you'll only feel a change in the engine response , not actual speed.

    Re: Too generous!

Someone could post some new pics about facelift..

    Thank you friend

If you can break into a very small sweat and turn to the first page of this thread you will see some pictures of the facelift. Now that wasn't too difficult was it?

    Re: Too generous!

People said that there are other new pics...

    But I can't find it...

    Google!

Goodle Porsche facelift or 997 facelift and you will find more shot and video. check on Rennl*st and you will find the video there.

    Re: Too generous!

    What people?

I haven't seen any breaking pics since those already listed on this thread. The only new thing I am aware of is the video around the ring. This was also documented here a few weeks ago:

    http://www.rennteam.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=306503&an=0&page=1#306503

I would have thought that if there were new pics then you could easily google for them. I don't see anything new personally.

Frankly, pictures don't really interest me. I doubt the facelift will look that different to the current model. It's the things that you can't see that I want to know about (like Direct Injection BHP and PDK).

    Re: Too generous!

We would know everything about the new baby

everytime i see the still facelift pictures released few months ago, i get a gut feeling this is one well made photoshop hoax. About the video release on utube...i am not sure. it is not very clear anyway.
    does anyone share this instinct?

I made the pics myself! Sorry for dissapoint you!

    Re: Facelift timeline

Post more pics of 997 Facelift plese!
We are curious to see more pics. . . .

    Re: Facelift timeline

porsche has not released any information about 997 facelift whatsoever.. so whatever we read in the magazines or on the web is mere speculations. introducing DSG, DFI, New Lights, etc... all predictions based on historical upgrade timelines and on the new engineering introduced with the new cayenne.
I dont think anyone should base his buying decision on when or what anything may happen. It is very easy to spread predictions and its funny how some predictoins are portrayed as facts.

The difference between this board and others is that some members here have genuine (sometimes first-hand) information. Pay attention to who wrote what at which time in which language and you'll find out.

It's getting too easy to be a car journalist these days. Just repeat what appeared here first.

It happens way too often nowadays that somebody tries to be a smart-ass and question first-hand data by some of our long-standing members.

IMO the new design of the indicators make it look similar like a Boxster.

In the article above I read about "tweaked suspension and steering" plus "minor changes to cabin materials" for the first time.
As for the Boxster similarity: the Boxster will receive a facelift also (see thread in the Boxster Board).
Hence the 997 MK II might look like a 987 MK I

911 will look like a Boxster and Boxster will look like a 911. Seems as if there's something wrong in Zuffenhausen's styling department.

Don't be so harsh, Rossi. Even bad designers have to work SOMEWHERE .
