rickman:What did you hear ?
I heard this :
- GT3.2 NO
- GT2 RS OK
- GT3 RS.2 OK
- Something in limited edition every year.
No gt3.2... and a GT3 RS i have some doubt...I think the GT3 is reveal to geneva 2017 in PDK or manual 100% sure
997 GT3 RS 3.6 - 964 RS - 991 GT3 RS
rickman:it's strange to imagine a GT3.2 with manual gear box and closed to 500 HP
It's not that strange - just think of 997 RS 4.0

I has one; ) but it is not a model question , it's just a question of proximity in time of almost two comparable models at different prices . Or , no manual transmission on the 991.2 GT3

That's why they are making such a big marketing deal about saying the R is not for the track (but of course, if would be a perfectly good track car) and the manual GT3 will be the one for the track. This is Porsche's way to show they do not overlap...

rickman:Track means performance and nowadays, it means no manual gear box.
2017 is not 2011...
Still some very fast track cars made with manual (Corvette Z06/Z07 and Viper ACR for example).

That's pure speculation on your part without merit about no 991.2 GT3.
I have seen the next GT3 last month and placed an order with Porsche already, as in Porsche AG, not my dealer.

""He heard". "You heard". "I heard this"
I bet all is coming and my next ride will be a GT3 RS.2 or GT2 RS. My dealer told me to expect a call in around 18 month to part ex my 991 GT3. ...
throt
"I Have Done It!".
991 GT3 pick up in October 2014.

Where did you see it and what did you see ?
you speak about order but I assume you mean a slot on the reserved list ;)

Consider you are a 'newbie' here, I am gonna let you off easy.
You joined beginning of Feb, don't think you could have missed all of Feb and March's posts. Anyway. go back a few pages even on this thread and you should be able to read up.
Porsche invited me and a bunch of 918 owners to Geneva for a sneak peek of the 911R before anyone else. FSW and AP were attached to our group for 2 days before they had to be diverted to the Geneva Autoshow. Within that presentation they also showed us the next GT3, aka 991.2 GT3, PLUS another car.
We basically grilled the 2 of them for 2 straight days. There are much more juicy details that I cannot post, but in time perhaps those can trickle out.
Porsche AG took orders from us and we all basically ordered all 3. I place actual ORDERS, you get on reserved lists waiting for a slot.
Anymore questions?
rickman:Interesting !
but what did you find so interesting in this new gt3 to buy it as soon as you saw it ?
Rickman, here on RT we get some nice information thanks to people like Whoopsy and others who have inside contact with Porsche, and the occasional titbits we all hear individually from our Porsche dealers. My dealer for example is owned by Porsche, so they get information early because they have visitors from Germany and sometimes they (intentionally or not) leak bits and pieces to us regular customers.

.2GT3RS, I cannot confirm or deny yet. Sorry. Same for questions concerning GT2/GT2RS.
The OTHER car will be a resurrection of a historic name plate. All I can say.
The gen 2.5 engine in the .2 GT3 is an evolution of the gen 2 4.0 in the GT3R which has a completely new oiling system, it will not grenade itself Will be race proven at least.
The engine in the current RS and the R is a gen 1.5, they are an improvement over the gen 1 engine in the current GT3.
.2 GT3 will have a evolutionary exterior design, mixed reactions from the 918 owners, some like it, some don't. Personally I like the new design, more aggressive. It will still narrow body so not gonna have the wide tires from the RS. The 'major' difference will be the inclusion of the option for manual gearbox.
Engine output should be right around 500HP. Slightly less than the current GT3RS, as even though the GT3RS is rated at 500HP, the ram air effect from the side intake at speed will give it a little bit more.
I don't have a 991 GT3, so buying the .2GT3 is a no brainer as it serves a different purpose than the RS. Motorsports treats the GT3 as the 'sports' model while the RS is the 'track' model. Hell I will likely spec sports seats instead of buckets. The NA engine bark is so much sexier than the disappointing 991.2 turbo engines, those little turbos are a major disappointment in the sound department that's for sure.

Can you just confirm or kill this rumour once and for all if you know - rear wing delete yay or nay?
