Another White GT3 clone has landed!

I'm sure you are all bored with White GT3 photos but mine arrived today.. 28 months after placing the deposit, so I have to post one, at least! I elected to take it just the way it came; tape and all. The dealer was very cooperative and allowed me to wisk it away as soon as the PDI was complete. Removed the tape and replaced the amber lenses tonight. Busy detailing day tomorrow! Thanks for all the great information you guys provided. Having Rennteam as a resource was invaluable during the decision-making process and a source of entertainment during the 28 month wait!

This is the 10th 911 I have owned over the years, including a Turbo, a Turbo S and a Ruf. I obviously haven't opened it up yet but even at 4000 RPM, you can tell that this is one serious automobile! The ride was VERY firm when we started the test drive and then I realized the technition had selected sport mode! One push of the button and it was perfect. Absolutely perfect! Love the short shifter; the (slightly heavy) clutch, the steering response, the sound, the alcantara steering wheel and everything else about this car. It is simply brilliant! I don't even mind that half of you have the same color as me!

It's a really sweet ride!

I hope that you will not encounter the "fueling issue" that myself and a few others have encountered.

If you can't fuel to "FULL"...there is an issue.

Were you supplied with Michelins or Pirellis?

Thanks, guys. No problem with fueling.. topped it off yesterday. With regard to detailing, it just needs a 'careful' wash after three weeks on the vessel. There are so many 'professional' photos of white GT3s out there that I can't compete, but here is a good one showing what a serious piece of work this is...

Oh, the tires are Michelin and they pick up little stones and grit like fly-paper. Hate the sound of that but I suppose that's the trade-off with 'sticky' tires.

This is torture for me.
Was at my dealer today. I'm there almost every day because the boss of the garage has put his White GT3 in the showroom so that for whom which have to wait to get theyre GT3 , they can just

about it.

Guess what my surprise was arriving there!

A red GT3 was there as well and with the owner inside the car ready to collect it and with a uge smile of the entire face and me shauting in silence LUCKY YOU AND ENJOY, but in the same time

WHEN WILL IT BE MI TURN?

Even a baby would react better then i did. But i heard so much good about this car that i'm starting to loose patience

Doctor is that Normal?????????

(BTW, a 'Technition' is either a 'Technician on fire', or the result of celebrating the new arrival and going online instead of going to bed! ... Never go back and read old posts! Sorry about that... English really is my first language.)

Anyhow, the titanium bolts are installed and WOW! They really should be included in the ceramic brake option. I know, a total waste of money you say, but you have to admit they do look cool! (Please don't tell my wife!)

Those look great! I agree, all Porsches should come with them standard! Where did you buy them if I may ask?

Yes, the Poggipolini bolts are about 1.5 mm longer than the originals, which gives you two extra threads. I was more concerned about the extra length at the front but after carefull examination, the extra threads are no problem whatsoever.

FYI, a standard Porsche 997 GT3 wheel bolt weighs 99 grams or 3.5 ounces for a total weight of 1.98 kgs (4.37 lbs) on all four wheels. Poggipolini titanium bolts for the GT3 weigh 59 grams each (2.08 ounces) or a total of 1.18 kgs (2.6 lbs.). The weight reduction with Poggipolini bolts is 800 grams or 1.76 pounds. But hey, it is unsprung/rotational weight (and they look really cool)... That's got to be worth $25 an ounce!

Seriously, I did not do this for the weight reduction, although that is an added bonus. I just felt they were more in keeping with the ceramic brake technology (and philosophy) than the standard bolts. Remember the early 911s, with those beautiful anodized wheel nuts? The new ones look terrible, IMO.

The price was 520 euros, for the kit... about the same as the dash clock, or the painted door opener trim option!
