Gnil:For a DD ossis blue all the way . I love it . The other's for me a very nice, but would become too tiring on a daily basis .
On a GT3 that would be different
Agree. It could be too much if it is an everyday car. Luckily it is not
Ossi with yellow carbon brakes should look awesome.

Just had a look at new 991.2 GT3 offers on mobile.de and most of the car with Clubsport Package are also specd with Bose. Now, am I the only one who do not see any kind of sense in this combination?
During my 991.1 GT3 ownership time I hadn't got slightest wish for special sound system.

Fully agree . I do not want to have anything more then the standard system in my RS . The noise in the car will kill any joy of listening to music and , according to the tests, the new GT3 is even louder inside , Makes no sense

+1 no point in having an upgraded sound system.
Years ago I upgraded my Ferrari Spider system(after market). Cost $5000. After 10 minutes driving with the new system I said to myself "There are better ways to piss away $5000." What a waste.

+1 for no Bose in the GT3. I like my hi-fi and would even consider paying for Burmester in a GTS or something, but in the GT3 it would be a waste of time. Regardless on whether you think the engine is music enough or not, once you start moving, the lack of soundproofing and general NVH obliterates the lower end of the frequencies, leaving only a harsh sounding top end. Adding more audio won't fix this. Put the money towards tyres and brakes instead

lexs4:Grant:Anyone seen the new Saffron Yellow yet (or its price)?
It's on the US configurator for the 911 Turbo's at $11,580
Yikes, that's more than the full purchase price for most of the cars I've owned (including a Porsche)

nberry:Nick, you use the car for intended purpose. Your 918 though all weather, its intended purpose is performance. What's the point of driving a 918 in the snow especially since you own several cars that are suited for that purpose?
No, the intended purpose is to be driven, period. It's a car after all, not a sculpture. Not a race car that can only be used on a race track.
918 is a road car, it has wipers, that means it can be driven in the rain.
Porsche tested them in the winter in the snow in the arctic circle too, that means it will work in the snow, I drove it extensively ON SNOW NAD ICE in Finland.
Why Frank didn't want to certify winter tires for the 918 because of the limited market, it doesn't mean I can't replicate their efforts and find my own winter tires that fit and put them on and drive it in the winter.
But really, what is considered suited? Taking a race car with slicks on ice is not suited. but with proper tires, even a race car can be driven in the snow, I have done that too in Finland driving a Cup car on snow and ice with studded tires.
My 918 is awd, has proper winter tires, got wipers, with heating inside, (and I also have the electric heater that works when I am in electric mode)

I ordered my 991.2 GT3 (manual, no Clubsport as I don`t track) and I ticked the Bose option, not because I am an audiophile but just because the standard audio setup is really poor.

As Dave says, the car noise in the car will kill any enjoyment from a sound system . The insulation is reduced to the minimum meaning there is like a resonance in the car ( it is the case in the .1 and in the .2 insulation is even less )
Maybe Bose can work when driving in the city , but I can't see it work properly above 80 or 100 km/h . It will be like a fight between the stereo and the car noise I am interested to know your experience and see if that is right or not once you have it .

Is there a weight penalty over the stock system with the Bose setup? i suppose there is?
