    http://vedm.net/click2?l=D6mN3&m=78pg&s=DxfrCU

    Happy Newyear !

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

would you be able to translate please?
we've all be waiting for this

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

Listen to your favourite music in your Porsche. With the iPod interface you can select your music with the original Porsche-stereo.
Inform for the possibilities of your Porsche.
    Retailprice is 912.- incl. VAT
this is only possible in combination with PCM 2.1 and later.

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

finally! I think this will make a great (belated) christmas gift for a lot of p-owners!
BTW, Hans: Porsche Centrum Eindhoven,is that the same as Porsche Centrum Zuid?
    Groeten Joost.

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

Image how many mp3 cd's you can burn for this option.

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

    yes, Joost, it is !
I'll have mine the second week of January.

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

i guess i'll have to trot on down to the dealer to see if they know anything about this - with your newsletter in hand

    Thanks!

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

Over a us$1K to install? Gee, thanks. Where do I send the gratuity?

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

This works with a MOST system?
    Is it based on Dension?

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

the screen picture from the newsletter shows a PCM screen, so presumably it has to be a MOST system

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

Well, I am not getting excited. I am an IPOD addict; it is the coolest music player. I can never go back to CDs. All of my other cars are IPOD compatible. I have read with amazement at the lack of Porsche Ipod capability.

I have seen past excitement over the release of ipod capability for the porsche; only to see nothing materialize. I am thinking of ripping the head unit out so I may play my ipod. It is a shame that I have had IPOD in my 03 Bimmers and I cannot get it for the Porsche.

The conflicting company views about technology confuses me (mechanical vs electrical). It also makes me have confusing thoughts about paying so much money for a car produced by a company which does not push the envelope. I really thought Porsche would be a leader, not a laggard (years!!!!, not days or months). If Porsche is actually going to sell and install this product, then they obviously understand that this is a product that is in demand. It is actually even embarrassing. How can you explain to a passanger who drives a $12000 4 year old car which employs more advanced technology that a car that costs 4 - 10 times more than that piece of crap that is in "SOME" ways technologically superior???????

Well, my 2006 BMW 7 Series is surely not iPod compatible, while I managed to get an iPod kit (even though a little buggy) to work in m 2007 911.

I agree, iPod is important and all my cars are iPod compatible!

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

I am thinking this is an aftermarket unit such as the Nav-TV or Dension unit. What leads me to this is the screen shot of the PCM displays the CD-changer along the top. I would think that a true Porsche product wouldn't hijack the CD changer like the aftermarket units are.

In any event I am eager to hear how the Dension unit is working out for people, if anyone has gotten one yet to install.

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

If it is of any help: The dutch letter says it replaces the CD-changer unit...
    -Joost-

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

Is this an official Porsche developed/released product or is it just the Dutch dealer installing some 3rd party unit (Nav-Tv or Dension perhaps)......is it possible to find out?

Re: finally; the iPod in the Porsche !!!

    wait 1000 isnt much????

and the newsletter link that you put on was relating to Cayenne models i think

Agreed on Porsche being years behind on electronics and other basics. How about having no option for automatically turning headlights on and off? The last time I had a car without that capability, I was seeing a lot of AMC Gremlins and Pacers on the road.
