    X73 motor mounts

    I just got the X73 suspension, and will have it installed next Wednesday.

    It seems the new "special" motor mounts that came with the X73 suspension have the same part numbers as the OEM mounts in the car now.

    The only difference is the OEM mounts have "blau grun" printed on them and the X73 mounts have "blau rot" printed on them (blue green and blue red).

    Should the X73 mounts be identified as different in some way?

    Dock,

    You already said it. The different mounts are identified by the color codes.

    The standard part numbers are stamped onto the metal part of the mount. The different "stiffness rates" or "Shore hardness" of the variant mounts are decided by the rubber part of the mount, and are only identified by a "secondary" color code.

    Thanks fritz.

    The stiffer motor mounts really do seem to make a difference. Power seems to come on quicker and harder after each shift, and there just seems to be a more solid connection all around.

    That's right Dock. A car fitted with stiffer mounts seems to be "all of a piece", instead of the power unit leading a life of its own in the back of the car.

    Might be at the expense of comfort (slightly more noise and vibration conducted into the interior), but that's not everyone's priority.

    Torsional rigidity of the Koenigsegg.

    "The monocoque has been evaluated by the University of Lund, and found to have a torsional rigidity of 28.100 Nm/degree, which is superior to that of any competitor."


    Does that include the Carrera GT as well?
