I see absolutely no reason for curent owners to get the new one. Same interior, modest hp gains, stlyling not that different except maybe for the lower front, no edge vs the competition in performance or technological advance. Skip it...

...and how was this so different regarding the 996 to 997? The HP didn't even change!
So is the logic of changing based on the interior?

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

The 997 still has no real competitor in its class. They are all either too heavy/low performer/more expensive/bad quality/no back seat.

The Cayenne has a lot more competition.

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

I'd like to see the interior of the new model in person. Sometimes they don't need to change the design, but just upgrade the material of some things. Having said that, they might turn their attention to the interior next year, now that they have the performance part taken care of.

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

Must say I really like the face-lift. Biggest improvement are the front lights and grill, more aggressive. Actually think the Turbo looks less agressive than the Cayenne (S).
    Intergrated exhaust also look nice

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

Right now I'm having thoughts about getting a new Cayenne Turbo since it has the same performance like my current powerkit CT. I'm still not sure about it since I'd need to put at least another 20000 Euro into such a deal but my wife thinks the whole thing through and if she agrees, we may take the plunge.

The reason is pretty obvious: selling my current CT powerkit privately is almost impossible, so I'd need to give it to a dealer. Going for another brand, I would probably loose a lot of money because I doubt that a BMW or Audi dealer would honor the change right now (Cayenne Turbo used car prices have gone down lately over here in Germany due to high fuel consumption and higher insurance cost).

So I would probably opt for a base Cayenne Turbo with a few options (not much), which should keep me going for the next couple of years. Still thinking about it...no final decision has been made.

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

sounds like a good move, good luck with the wife !
why no S brakes on the cayenne S ? the C2S, box S, both have then, why not the cayenne ? are the brakes the same on the V6 as the S ?

    thanks

According to the preliminary technical data I have, the Cayenne V6, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo have different brake systems. I don't remember anymore the precise data but I think the Cayenne V6 has 330 mm brake discs front, the Cayenne S has 350 mm and the Cayenne Turbo has 368 mm.
I have to look it up.

What do you mean by "S" brakes? Are you referring to the drilled brake discs on the Carrera S and Boxster S? The reason is simple: the Cayenne would "collect" a lot of dirt (when off-roading) in these holes, reducing the braking performance substantially.

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

    yes, thanks
so the cayenne S does have diff/larger brakes than the V6

I have to look it up first but as far as I remember, yes.

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

are you sure that the interior picture applies to the new model ????

    Hey RC,

    I say go for it!

My decision is much easier than you. I am upgrading my Cayenne S to the new Cayenne Turbo. The performance gain for me will be significant. There is no other SUV out there that I will even consider.

Besides, my wife already said "Yes" last night.

    330mm, 350mm and 368mm is correct

The interior is correct. For confirmation, go to the Porsche website. They have interior photos there too.

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

Can you confirm that the rims above labled by you to be "the new 20'" rims are indeed the 20s? I put an order today for a Turbo and the salesperson told me they were the 21s"... Please advice.

    Thx!

I can confirm that the wheels shown in RC's picture are the new 21" SportPlus option. I saw them on the dealer's configurator and ordered them on my car.

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

Thanks for the prompt feedback! My order states "CY2 - 21" Cayenne Sport Wheel" Is this the one?

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

Yes, those are the 21" wheel option. According to the order guide they are called SportPlus. I don't have the order guide with me just now to confirm the code but there is only one 21" wheel style option but there are a couple of ordering codes (one includes coloured wheel centres i.e. porsche crests)

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

    Thank you!

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

Good find Temm.I assume those last two shots are of meteor gray. It looks susrprisingly like my current titanium grey.

Re: Cayenne FACELIFT Pictures (Part 2)

The meteor does look a LOT like Titanium. If they were going to change it anyway, I wish they could have replaced it with something darker, like slate grey....
