While Porsche should be commended for trying to spice up the interior of the GT models, the stripe on the seats and the gigantic GT2 RS Weissach edition designation on the headrest look cheesy to me.

Yeah, fortunately the "stripes" on the seats is only printed on the removable cushions which can be replaced for alternatives (both aftermarket and factory).  Wish stripes could be deleted, as promised by AP...

I would go for platinum wheels with black as theirry has done.  Black wheels with a black car looks wrong to my eye and is a played out look IMO.

Platinum wheels were my first choice in the beginning but then I noticed, that the 991.1 had them standard and I also had them on my 997.2 GT3, so I want a change.

Also, most people are going with black headlights with black or platinum wheels, and I'd like to try something different.

I still like guards red, but I really don't want black headlights, and I don't know how the silver headlights look on guards red. It worked well on the 991.1 because the turn signals were clear already.

Hopefully this will be added to the configurator in the upcoming months. I also dislike the stripe and would have preferred the lettering GT3 on the headrests

I think the reason they got rid of the GT3/GT4/GT3RS/GT2RS lettering on the headrest was so they could use the same seat for all those models (and just change the cushions).  Weissach is only one with a special seat (aside from cushions).

The other thing that is lame is the GT3 stripes are not even symmetrical - they are the same off-center stripes for both left and right sides (instead of mirror-image pairs) - only have to make one kind of cushion...

Its ironic that I bought the car for performance and spend all my money on none performance items. I even opted for LED's because the outer and inner casing is black and compliments the GR better. I rarely if ever drive my GT3 at night.mail

That is the problem going from Ferrari to Porsche. The interiors are night a day and the only way to make the Porsche interior look half way decent is to spend stupid money on interior upgrades.yes

Don't worry, for some reason that I can't understand, the resale value of a GT3 in the first few years tends to trade at MSRP plus or minus a fixed amount.  Doesn't really seem to matter what options you choose (as long as someone likes your choices enough not to be offended).  So, you tend to get all that money back that you spent on options.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

There aren't really many performance options to choose on a GT model.  PCCB and that's about it.  While you can go crazy on leather options, most of them aren't really necessary IMO, for example steering column leather, seat belt receptical, fuse box, etc.  On my GT4, I had to get the upgraded CDR Plus stereo so that screen didn't look like it was from 1992.  Some opted for PCM so that they didn't have a roof wart (at a cost of $4k).

What was the reason for the lift after determining you didn't need it?

Porsche lowered the price and I found that when I was selling my .1GT3 doing so without a lift was an impediment. Having one is not a deal breaker on resale. Not having one is. To further confuse the issue, I plan to sell my car back to the dealer when I tire of it. They will take it with or without a lift. However, I believe the car is more valuable on resale with a lift.Smiley

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

even the Sport Chrono package isn't really a performance option since all functions are already standard on the GT3 with the exception of the laptimer.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

can the lift be retrofitted later ?

The only reason why I ordered sport chrono is it completes the look of the dash. Without it, the dash looks barren and cheap. That's why I included the extended dash leather. Had it on my .1GT3 and Targa and it makes a huge difference appearance wise. Makes the car look like a $167,000 car.

I don't believe the lift can be retrofitted.

    RC:

Smiley Avoiding crowded areas with lots of traffic and people is safe (at least for others) and doesn't attract much unnecessary attention. One reason that police and people react aggressively to sports car drivers are crazy behaviors of some drivers in public. You just cannot do donuts in the middle of a crowded public road and you cannot fully accelerate in a slow traffic area with many people around it.

The public in Germany is now very focused on "illegal" racing, which is often mostly two cars racing each others from a stop light to another. If you do that in a city center with a 50 kph speed limit at speeds of 90 kph and over and there are people (other drivers, pedestrians, etc.) around, you don't have to be surprised that you are going to pay a hefty price for that, especially if something bad happens.

It's actually EUR 2'500. Just discussed this today with them.

I've also seen their black GT3 with the golden wheels, looks sick. The wheels are their magnesium variant.

Mike, can you confirm if it's black or black metallic ? Thanks

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

2.5k EUR seems like an insane amount for 4x seat cushions.  Given the material, presumably any competent automotive upholster could make some for a fraction of that.
