Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

Just wondering if its even worth asking my dealer.

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

    yes

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

    what kind of discount ?

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

    yeah i second that....?

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

I would always be cautious about the claims of discounts on any 997 other than a C2/C2s...in the current market I do not see why the dealers would have any incentive to discount.
A lot of folks like to "crow" about the great deals they made, but I think it is mostly talk! Car dealers, particularly Porsche dealers are very aware of the market and seem to price accordingly.

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

I think you should ask about a discount. I ended up with a couple of g's off msrp, but I just ordered more options so it was a wash.
I know they are dealing on all the S cars if anybody is looking.

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

    C4S,

I noticed your in LI also. I'm interested in where you ordered your 997TT where they would give you a discount. I ordered mine from Roslyn, which is close to where I live. My 03 X50 6sp. was discounted by $10K by Legend, BUT I do not feel the quality of service, expert advice, loaner cars, etc. were acceptable, so I switched to Roslyn (it could not be any worse). Ironically, Legend, had I ordered from them, was not offering a discount. Please PM me if your uncomfortable in responding in a public forum. TIA.

    I totally Agree

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

I can't find discounts anywhere in LA.

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

    Hello,

If you are willing to drive a little, or have car delivered to you, you might want to try Michael Porsche, Family Porsche, and Rector Porsche. I am not affiliated with any of them. Did negotiate with all 3 when buying my 997 in 2005 and found them to be "willing partners." They were all very nice about it.

When you call, it might help to know exactly what options you want, how much of a discount you are looking for, which month allocation you would like, and be ready to conclude the deal right there on the phone (and use this as a leverage). Hope this helps and please give feedback to the forum so we could follow your footstep!

Yes. It never "hurts" to ask.

Was this really given to you? Nothing in California indicates that I can get a discount anywhere. Would you mind telling me where you got this?

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

Isnt' the MSRP priced at $122,900 USD without options in the US?

    huh??? i'm confused....

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

122,900 is the MSRP before adding extra options. 128,120 is the MSRP after adding all the desired options.

    Yes. BASE MSRP is 122,900.

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

    Hello "Devo,"

Very helpful info and you have got yourself a GREAT deal! I have not heard of a discount this big on a turbo so far. If I may ask please: This is a straight purchase/lease, there was NO trade-in involved? Also, I assume you are not married to the daughter of the dealership's owner or anything like that?
    Thanks in advance.

There is a difference between base price and the optioned one. Both are considered MSRP.

To clear the ambiguity. Yes, my discount was real and it was a purchase, not a lease. I was in a unique, advantageous situation which I do not believe will repeat itself anytime soon. Like anyone else, I worked it to my advantage to acquire the turbo with the heavy discount. I probably should not have posted it, but in my haste did so in repsonse to the initial inquiry. I would not expect to receive that type of discount in the near future. I would expect that many discounts will be available within 12-18 months, if production gets up to 6000 units annually.

    which dealer???

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

Ordered mine a few months ago and got a few % off MSRP...called a bunch of dealers and found more than one willing to discount. Just show that you are a serious buyer and do your leg work. Honestly though...IMHO it's not really worth the hassle when you are already spending this kind of cash.

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

I"ve called about 10 dealerships in calfornia and none of them offer a discount.

California is usually priced higher than the rest of the nation with the exception of Florida. My Dealer is sold out at MSRP well into 08. Why would you discount a car that will easily sell for MSRP for along time to come??

Exactly, who would discount. I am a vetran customer in Dallas and I am getting no discount. I am sure I could push for 1 or 2%, but, they'd just drop my trade in #...the price you have to pay for something new.

Now, I could maybe see a decent discount on a $160K TT, but, on a $128K? Wow, I am conpletely jealous.

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

I'm just glad my dealer isn't attempting to charge me over MSRP. I can live with MSRP, its the 6 month wait to get the car that I don't like. My TT is built and on its way should be here end of JAN.

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

I would think that it would be tough to get a discount on the 997TT from many dealers, particularly those in Califronia. But I do think that the local economy has to be taken into consideration. That being said it wouldn't surprise me to learn that somebody could get a discount on the 997TT here in Michigan given the poor economic situation here. BTW, I've only seen one 997TT here on the roads and it was being driven by Roger Penske..

Re: Anyone getting a discount in MSRP for turbo?

I got $300 off MSRP , gift from the salesman.
