    997 Turbo at the Ring.

    1st.

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

    2nd.

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

    3rd.

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

    4th.

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

I wonder about the engine placement with the exhausts so high. On the 996 Turbo the exhausts are much lower relative to the intercooler outlets.

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

Good point; something going on there with placement of some
    different, or new components. Revvv

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

I wonder where you got these pictures from?

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

    (sarcasm)

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

I sure hope the rear wing is heavily camoflaged. That is one ugly looking contraption. Porsche needs to get into the modern age and do away with the stupid looking fixed tail wings. Talk about a boy racer message/symbol.

I think the back part of the car looks thicker vertically, and that Porsche has done this to get the public used to the "look" so when they drop the V8 in there in the future it won't be such a big change.

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

Actually i found the photos at Supercar.net forums (Sorry for the publicity).

    I must say i'm sorry m5er.

Every time i post photos here i take a round on the boards to see if the thing i want to post was already posted or not and i checked the 996 and turbo boards today but i didnt check the posche board because usually its used to post boxster spy photos.

Sorry dude. Will be more carefull next time.

    Cheers...

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

Maybe it's the rear wing, but that car looks longer for some reason.

And a slide forward with the engine for a few years down the road won't surprise me either.

Dude no need to apologize whatsoever, I was pulling your leg. Didn't think you'd go for it?

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

    M5er, i understand you completly

I was just saying that there was no need to have 2 posts of the exact same thing

    Cheer dude.

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

looks like a gt2 and not much to get excited about... i have certainly heard/seen nothing yet that will craze me toward writing a cheque for a 997 TT

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

The more I see of the 997, the more I like it. This time especially the new huge air intakes to be seen just behind the doors caught my attention. I am hoping for a power/performance increase that is more than just a small evolutionary step, just as many others here.

I didn't see the 997 Turbo yet, just on spy pics as everybody else. And all spy pics show a camoflaged car.
But I saw the REAL 997 (not camoflaged or a computer generated image) and all I can say is that it looks like the perfect 911. Honestly! If people think the 997 is just a facelift, I'm sorry to hear that. In my eyes, the 997 is the perfect 911, the lines are flowing perfectly, all the shapes are in the right places. I might have done the rear parts slightly different but I'm no professional designer and I still love the car. Of course the 997 isn't a revolutionary design (even I expected one...) but after talking to some people and listening to arguments, I have to agree that it was the right decision. The 911 has to stay a 911, you can't make a SL out of it. Every radical design change could end up in a marketing catastrophy. The 911 is no Boxster and no Cayenne, it is THE Porsche.

    ohhh yeah is THE Porsche!!!!

Re: 997 Turbo at the Ring.

Sorry, but I think it's only a Boxster Coupe.

Look at the exhaust sytem. A similar picture was puplished in a german car magazine.

Sorry, but no dice. The Boxster coupe will not have back seats. This one clearly does. The Boxster is mid-engine, so no back seat possible.
