    New C4S order - whaddaya think

    Just ordered MY 2007 C4S. As it stands the order is
    Midnight Blue
    Black Interior
    Carrera Classic wheels
    -20 mm Sport suspension/locked diff
    Sport Seats
    Sports exhaust
    Park distance control (I have to park in some tight spots)
    Telephone module
    PCM/Sat Nav
    Bose
    Floor mats
    Sunroof
    Rear wiper
    CD changer
    (some of these are standard in my country)

    I decided against Sport chrono as I think it is a bit gimmicky.

    However, I have struggled with colour choice. I love midnigtblue. I live in a hot place with lots of very bright sunny days. I am also very drawn to cobalt and to turbo wheels. I am not a great fan of the standard wheels, sport design or carrera sport wheels for several reasons.

    My choice as ordered is to me a classic and "safe" and beautiful. But also gets hot almost as much as black. Cobalt and turbo wheels is maybe making a "look at me" statement, but not quite as hot and (I guess) shows dirt a bit less.

    Classic beauty or showy stunner??!!

    Any thoughts on my specs and colour/wheels dilemma?

    Whatever, I can't sleep tonight just thinking about my new mistress (wife approved of course!). It's going to be a long six months

    Congratulations! Sounds very nice!

    I've always thought Beige looks way sweet with midnight.. Black/ Beige interior( 2 tone) may be a great choice. And much cooler.

    True, beige is cooler but I have noticed in older cars that beige looks dirty fairly easily, especially on the carpets. Black interior with the aluminium/silver accents looks very modern IMO

    IMHO, the S wheels look sooooo much better on the C4S than the TT wheels. Of all the wheel choices, they would be my last pick.

    I'm in the same boat. I was attracted by Cobalt, but it's a borderline "look at me" color. Since it did not look so well with the stainless steel stripe on the roof of the targa, I settled on Midnight Blue.

    I'm probably going to order the car with the bicolor black/beige interior and black floor mats. This should solve both the temperature and the wear issues.

    GET the SChrono. It's a fun gadget AND it comes with a variety of un-related stuff which allows you to change settings of the car's various systems.

    You can unsnap the SC stopwatch from dash, remove it's trim, stuff clock into dash and cover hole with a custom-made, locally made, leather flap. There're a few other grilles, panels and interruptions on the dash anyway.

    You can also just decide to live with it as it is.

    Either way, I wish I ordered it now. I refused to get it when ordering because I hated the wart ruining the nice clean lines of the dash... .

    I have just placed my order. 3 days for modifications. I decided on the grey/black interior because it is a little less 'hot' and monolithic to the black. Was considering the beige/black with black floor mats as well.

    In a hot climate either of these should do better than all black (and the grey doesn't disturb the sportiness of the dark interior).

    I am also drawn to midnight blue - I think it would be more visible on the hot bright days in Australia. Lapis blue is also a gorgeous color and in a hot climate I would choose it over cobalt.

    Isn't it a great dilemma to have !!!

    I would re-think the rear wiper....My car had EVERYTHING I wanted on the showroom floor except it had the rear wiper. I had the dealership remove it and plug the hole before delivery. The glass is soft and will score with the wiper..I have never used any rear wipers on Porshces or any other cars for all that matters. I treat the rear window with Rain-X or any similar product and have found it to be MORE effective than the rear wiper as I treat the entire window. You have an OUTSTANDING vehicle on order....Congrats.. Also, the rear wiper delete really cleans up the rear of the car....Just food for thought..and enjoy the "New" Babe!!

    Thanks for your thoughts. The rear wiper is one the "standard " options here in the land of Oz

    I agree on removing rear wiper. I think it helps in a snowy enviornment .I live in Chicago and still deleted it . much cleaner look. I have slate but you should check atlas grey. some blue to it kinda unique color. good luck crg ,ps .get sports crono . larger steering wheel the list goes on and on......

    If I'm not mistaken, the rear wiper does not have a 'washer' which makes it use very limited. Rennteamers, please correct me if I'm wrong.

    The thing about the rear wiper arm and blade? It can be removed seasonally and only the nub remains (find a black plastic cap for it).
